Somebody that I know that worked in the entertainment business for a while said that Brandy spends a fortune on her looks/hair/makeup etc. It really pays off tho. She always looks high fashion and beautiful. And when she gets on the stage her and those vocals mean business. I always enjoy hearing her live. So much raw talent. “Beyonce’s always been known as one of the most dishonest singers in the music biz, and even today, almost 15 years into her career, her lies continue like clockwork.
Beyonce’s latest batch of bullshit comes from her recent ‘I Am… World Tour’ DVD and it’s accompanying television special. The superstar officially called the DVD her “directorial debut”, with official press releases solely naming her as producer, editor and director. She told Extra that it took her nine months to edit, and then told Nightline’s Cynthia McFadden that the only help she had was somebody who knew how to use Final Cut Pro (though she claimed she could still do the Final Cut Pro by herself).
Beyonce may have been busy telling the world about her incredible skills as a director, but as it turns out she wasn’t the only one directing the DVD — her choreographer and creative director Frank Gatson, as well as Ed Burke, also had a hand in creating it.
“First of all, I must say that I have been so thankful for the success of the ‘I Am…World Tour’ DVD,” Gatson told That Grape Juice in a recent interview. “To co-direct that body of work, along with Beyonce and Ed Burke…”
So, how much did Beyonce actually even do herself?
This isn’t the first time that Beyonce has been caught taking sole credit for other people’s work. She’s often been busted contributing one letter or word to a song, with no changes to the production or arrangement, in order to gain a writing credit, only to then claim she wrote it entirely herself – One hilarious instance saw her Dreamgirls song “Listen” being disqualified from the Academy Awards when the awards’ executive committee found there were too many co-writers on the track and that Beyonce had contributed the least amount to the song out of everybody involved.
But I digress – The “I Am… World Tour” holds another example of Beyonce’s deceitful ways. You see, one key feature of the DVD is that it not only follows Beyonce on tour, but also follows her as she treks around the globe, learning about different cultures and exploring exotic locales. One instance featured the singer making her way through a pyramid in Egypt, and then spontaneously bursting into a rendition of her song “Ave Maria”. It’s an experience that touched the singer deeply — or so she’d like us to believe.
“This time I can appreciate how incredible this is and the history, and I try to live in the moment,” she told Nightline when speaking of her Egyptian escapades.
“I felt like it was important to go and see the pyramids,” she admitted. “It was absolutely spiritual [and] unbelievable and it just shows human ability and power. I felt like ‘I’m not worthy, I shouldn’t be in this pyramid, this is amazing,’ and it was really beautiful because I was able to go to the top and sing.”
Too bad it was all a publicity stunt.
Back in November of 2009 when Beyonce was actually in Egypt, it was arranged that the country’s leading Egyptologist Zahi Hawass would show her around. Here’s what he had to say to a local newspaper when questioned about his experience with the superstar.
“I showed her the Sphinx and I gave her a book on King Tutankhamun,” Hawass said. “She’s a stupid person and she doesn’t understand a thing and she doesn’t want to understand. She’s coming here to take pictures and that’s it.”
Now, over one year later, Hawass’ comments about Beyonce just wanting to “take pictures” make a lot more sense with the recent release of her tour DVD and television special. It’s too bad that Bey only seems to enjoy learning about different cultures when she can use it to help sell her next album or concert special.”

A very good performance, and the song is okay, but I generally have not liked the songs I have heard so far on Brandy’s new album. She needs better material going forward.
I also heard voice strain. She sounded good, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea for her to work with a vocal coach if she’s not working with one already.

I’m sooooo attracted to her tone…
Instead of letting this quality album die, I think she should just do some more singles and try gain a refreshed buzz for it, as there are songs on this record to give it new life & new buyers still..

Did someone just say that brandy needs vocal lessons? LMAO! Brandy has been professionally trained since she was a CHILD. See her singing His Eye Is On The Sparrow at 11 years old. Pitch, control, runs, poise, melismas and her ear for harmony is SICK.

Wow, she really grown as a vocalist. I knew she could sing, but not on this level. Fuck sells, R&B artist should go independent and focus on making great music instead of first week album sells. Aaliyah, Brandy and Monica will forever be Princesses of R&B.

There is no doubt that Brandy’s vocals are and always has been awesome. She is a beast when it comes to her vocals. Her performance and vocals were flawless. She slayed that it. I have loved her since we was a kid and now seeing her as an adult do her stuff. She blew me away…..

I don’t think it gets any better than this! This is pure perfection. I have been riding with Brandy for years and this era has proven to be the best for her musically and most importantly, confidence-wise. I am so proud of her grind and can’t get enough of the music! Keep going, B-Rocka!

OMFG that perfomance was epic. Her appearance: ON POINT! Her emotion: EXTREMELY BELEIVABLE!!! Her voice: BRANDY and INCOMPARABLE TO NOBODY ELSE!!!
The video for this song, if it is chosen as a single, needs to be exactly like this! People love THIS BRANDY..that song is such a WEDDING SONG!!! It’s current, catchy and rememberable. I’m at work, playing it over and over, bobbing my head to it. She really needs to do the video just like that: good dress, good hair, good theatre, good dancer, good lighting and it probably wouldnt even cost that much. WELL DONE MS. NORWOOD!!!

If this were a single- AND IT SHOULD BE- there could be so many remixes where rappers and or male singers get on it and do features and duets. This song has the potential to outdo “Put It Down” and be another “Have You Ever” Brandy should definitely stick to performances and videos like this one. She could release this as a single and then “Scared of Beautiful” and leave all that pop music shit behind and be known as a very dramatic singer because she can clearly do it. This performance proved that!

Look Yall, What we received from BRANDY with this BET HONORS performance was truly something only the GREATS can do, her ability to deliver those words with such passion , emotion, tambers, and inflections are of such caliber that only Whitney houston has given me in my lifetime. (My Opinion) . We have to remember, its all about the instrument Brandy was given via of those chords. Yes ppl sing louder, or less raspy because they may be a dam saxaphone or trumpet voice (nice) , but Brandy’s voice is a voice that only comes around 1 time in 1000 years , like Whitney …. that is why Whitney picked Brandy on up with her , SHE knew it wasnt like hers but it was just as GOD GIVEN and was created to move Mountains with type of voice , the feeling the , ability to perfectly execute 1/32 and 1/16 notes scales in perfect tune as punctuation to a lyric does not come around often, I mean you got a million ppl that do runs but they dont sound like BRANDY. Its that simple. I even see how she’s using the Dancing with the Stars in this
