Oh no!
While the last few years have seen the star struggle to live up to her hype in the US, the UK has always been more than happy to accomodate Brand Rihanna and her unashamed brand of ‘Microwave Pop’.
That is..until this week.
For, in what might be indicate a decline in interest in her latest album ‘Unapologetic‘, she has suffered falls on a number of charts in the market.

After failing to secure the #1 spot, ‘Stay‘ slips out of the Top Ten and is forced to make do with the #12 spot, while ‘Diamonds’ sits well below the Top 20 at #31.
All this, as ‘Unapologetic’ drops five spots to #20, outsold by Taylor Swift‘s ‘RED’ and Bruno Mars’ ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’ which rose to #6 after spending last week at #8. Pretty sad, considering Swift’s release debuted weeks before hers did.
However, all is not lost.
That’s right, thanks to their respective fan bases, Beyonce & Justin Timberlake have made significant gains on in the nation, with the latter’s new single ‘Mirrors’ soaring to #1 and B’s ‘I Am’ rises to #13 on the Urban tally 219 weeks after launch.
Meanwhile, Emeli Sande ‘Our Version Of Events’ holds court atop every other album in the nation, further extending its lead as the closest thing the world has seen to Adele‘s ’21′ since its Virgin fuelled release.
Here’s hoping things pick up for Rihanna in the coming week.

With that said, I don’t understand why Bey’s single has taken so long to debut. Garnering hype at the SuperBowl was a PR dream come true. Her GQ and Vogue spread was potential PR for her music too.

To those that replied to my last comment. I actually did like Beyonce’s last album, it was a very nice rendition however it still lacked any strong emotional tones. The production and theme were classic, lyrics and vocals were not. (Beyonce’s vocals were excellent but I feel like she was still disconnected from the work and the lyrics were just generalized.) Beyonce needs to get people who make hits in order to stand a chance because like it or not that is the direction the pop centered music scene is heading.

I think Beyonce should move away from the Feminist bullshit and just make music she feels strongly about. Beyonce has excellent vocal control and strong performance energy. If she could just utilize that and create a solid album that she can feel comfortable, connected and emotional about then it will resonate with her fans, haters and the nonchalant. I still feel like she is still holding back and not allowing herself to be herself though in her documentary I did see her opening up and letting go a bit of her private life but that’s not what the fans truly want. I don’t think any of us want to know into her business, we just want to know HOW she truly feels about everything; not some politically correct answer to make others happy or at least content. I just hope with her new material she can have lyrics that are more deep and personal. When that happens I will then call Beyonce the next MJ
