Brandy Fans Fuming; Start Petition For 3rd Single

Published: Monday 22nd Apr 2013 by Sam

Brandy may have racked up acclaim aplenty for her latest album ‘Two Eleven’, but her fans aren’t satisfied. And to a degree, we agree.

Flip the hood for the full story…

The collective, which the singer has christened her “Starz’, are angry that for the third consecutive project the proverbial plug has been pulled at point of second single. Indeed, the campaign for 2004’s ‘Afrodisiac’ was capped at ‘Who Is She 2 U’, while 2008’s ‘Human’ was laid to rest with ‘Long Distance’, and now the ‘Two Eleven’ chapter appears to have closed with ‘Wildest Dreams’. This, despite widespread demand for a third release – the most popular option being ‘Do You Know’.

Eager to make their voices heard, the lead B-Rocka fansite, Brandy Source, started a petition in support of the Mike Will produced cut receiving the single treatment.

Peep their promo video below…

So where do we stand on the matter? The reality is that we feel somewhat conflicted.

Anyone who has followed That Grape Juice over the years will know that we a) support true talent and b) love us an underdog. As such, we’re almost pre-disposed to supporting a cause that will see one of last year’s most solid LP’s awarded an extra spark of life.

However…

The reality of the music industry is that those pulling the strings, so to speak, deal almost exclusively in figures. We’re talking  campaign budgets and returns on investment. Hence, the artists pushed most are those bringing in the most.

Of course, we’re only playing Devil’s Advocate on that front as it’s not always as straight-forward or “fair” as this. Case, point, the models of the music industry who are force-fed to the masses until they like the taste. Such practices often cost millions and consistently leaves us puzzled as to why those $$$ aren’t pumped into established talent on the roster who still have a lot to give – both qualitatively and commercially – if only given the chance.

In any case, however this plays out, we feel Brandy has always “won” in that she has successfully re-embedded her name, skill-set, and musical importance into the fabric of the current music industry; a fact which sets us up the soundest of foundations to build from with her next project.

Still, we want to know, do you agree with the petition? As ever, let us know below…

Your thoughts?

      • Sweet nothing’s78 April 22, 2013

Totally and clearly got no positive inspiration in ‘its’ life!

    • LMAOOOO April 22, 2013

Unfortunately you are correct. The public doesn’t like Brandy anymore. Only the singing queens and fat women still care about her. She should stick to acting.

    • IDK April 22, 2013

      Ha! You mad.

    • Chillin April 22, 2013

Brandy is and will NEVER be a flop..she is a legend and she has paved the way for ALL of your favs..If her current album did not sell how she expected..that does not even matter ..she has already done BIG things in this lifetime…so please stop with all this flop bullsh*t

      • SLAYRIAH CAREY (#1 DIVA) April 22, 2013

“she has paved the way for ALL of your favs”

How has Brandy paved the way for Mariah though. Gurl, sit.

      • Mark111 April 22, 2013

Sorry, my fave was out first and paved the way for all the one named R&B singers coming in the game at 15 and set the bar. Try again.

      • SLAYRIAH CAREY (#1 DIVA) April 22, 2013

        @Mark111
Who were you replying to? And who is your fave that you speak of in your commeny?

      • Mark111 April 22, 2013

        @Slayriah

I was replying to Chilling and I was talking about Aaliyah. So you pointed out MC, I brought Aaliyah, so who did Brandy paved the way for again? lol

      • SLAYRIAH CAREY (#1 DIVA) April 22, 2013

        @MARK111

Lol… I don’t remember anyone citing Brandy as an influence. But maybe her fans just want something to feel good about, especially since 9/11 has been flopping.

      • Red92 April 22, 2013

@Slayriah Carey I think they were referring to favorites as people who were still kind of relevant today. Mariah is just as relevant as Brandy in the music department. And I’m both HUGE fans of both btw. They’re just under appreciated right now because they can no longer compete with the younger artists out today. And @Mark 111 Aaliyah came out at the same time as Brandy. And they BOTH were 15. I should know because again I’m also HUGE fans of both of their music and followed their careers religiously.
TBH, If some of you didn’t like some of the people you claim to not like or call flops, why waist time even commenting on it when you could be supporting ones that you do like ya know?

      • Chillin April 23, 2013

Thank you @red92!! These dumb a**es ..obviously i am not referring to Maria who has been out prior to Brandy…Brandy was one of the first african american artist to cross over AND be successful in music and film..she was one of the most influential solo young artist in the 90’s..she was a Cover girl before any of these kids now adays..You cannot refer to ANYONE as a flop who as already accomplished more than most people have this day in age…sigh you kids know NOTHING about music and respecting artist that have already made a mark in history…

    • Bran Star April 22, 2013

Really now? A Ciara stan doesn’t deserve to speak on who’s checking for ANYONE. Ci still needs to build herself back up from being ‘basically extinct’. Be seated.

    • Rain April 23, 2013

And this coming from a Ciara stan? Gerl BYE! lol

    • nene April 23, 2013

  5. Monstarebel April 22, 2013

She needs to release Can You Hear Me Now or Wish Your Love Away anything else i won’t be here for

  6. ULISES April 22, 2013

I personally believe that “No Such Thing As To Late” would be such a great commercial hit for her. Although the album is amazing, I strongly believe this is the song she should release as a third single. I LOVE Brandy and support her no matter what she does. She’s amazing!

  7. brandy April 22, 2013

Afrodisiac had Talk About Our Love..

  8. Super Cisus April 22, 2013

FLOPDY IS DONE!!!! NO RELAVANCE SINCE 2002

  9. Kerry Johnson April 22, 2013

Do you know what you have is a Good ass song!!!!!!
Way better than any of beyonce’s songs on 4 🙂

  10. outofdabox14 April 22, 2013

I’m Sorry I Love Brandy an all but “Without You” Needs To Be Single #3. “Do You Know What You Have?” is not gonna do anything to make her sell more albums…that song is boring and dry…”Without You” Is The Stand out Song of Two Eleven and has potential to chart to #1 on the album…

    • MUSICHEAD April 22, 2013

      I agree!

    • janet1814 April 23, 2013

Co-Sign! Without You is my jam!!

  11. DAMIEN April 22, 2013

Why o’ why didn’t she release ‘Without You’, ‘Wish Your Love Away’, Let Me Go’ and/or ‘Hardly Breathing’?

Those songs were absolute, f******, fire, so, to be perfectly honest, I don’t blame her “stans”, me being one of them, for going nuts!!!

It’s the same case with Xtina and ‘Lotus’… Why isn’t their management teams handling their ‘artists’ projects properly? Why are these artists ‘allowing’ their work to be handled so poorly?

    CHILE’… A mess I tell you. A sad mess.

Ms. Norwood is s an ICON nonetheless!!!

    • WACK RECORD LABELS April 22, 2013

THESE RECORD LABELS SEEM LIKE THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH TRUE TALENT….ITS SOO SAD. THEY PULL THE PLUG ON BRANDY, CHRISTINA AND MONICA ALBUMS.

  12. Music Soul Harmony April 22, 2013

Yall coulda used a better pic tho…smh.

    • Hive April 22, 2013

  14. CiCi Slaaaaays April 22, 2013

    Two eleven >>>>>>> Unapologetic & 4

    She deserves more singles

  15. Hive April 22, 2013

How many copies have been sold? maybe she doesn’t deserve a 3rd single.

    • LMAOOOO April 22, 2013

      187k

      • Hive April 22, 2013

are you serious? Wooow thats sad

  19. Hive April 22, 2013

    • Kerry Johnson April 22, 2013

And your job can be kissing me 🙂

  20. DIGGER BEY April 22, 2013

Lmfao @Super Ciflop. Gurl why don’t u go and join ur fav 6 feet under. No one can’t check for her ass. Cause she doesn’t exist.

    • Kerry Johnson April 22, 2013

Shut up that’s why Rihanna snatched Beyoncé wig off HAHAHAHA 🙂

  21. HOTSTUFF April 22, 2013

    a petition ? so much desperateness ….LMAO i can’t with this floppiness….

  22. Kerry Johnson April 22, 2013

    I’m horny again 🙁

  23. WHAT? April 22, 2013

TO THE DUMMY ABOVE WHO SAYS BRANDY IS A FLOP……I CAN TELL EASILY THAT U ARE EITHER YOUNG OR DEAF BECAUSE ANYBODY WITH TWO EARS WOULD KNOW BRANDY’S VOICE IS LETHAL! SO NO NO NO HONEY BRANDY ISNT A FLOP…YOUR GENERATION HOWEVER IS…

  24. IJS April 22, 2013

Brandy is done and no amount of signatures are going to change that
For all the amount of support online..in reality I doubt over 20% who comment actually buy her music. This isn’t 1995,1998 or even 2002. Living in the past is not helping her sales, overrating her vocal skills has only turned off potential fans.
2/11 was no better than human or adrodisiac. Brandy could release the best five songs and still only have them chart as high as the top ten on the R&B chart(if she is lucky)

    • WHAT? April 22, 2013

THATS BECAUSE MUSIC IS NOT THE SAME AND IT HAS CHANGED..BUT NOT FOR THE BETTER. NOBODY IS PUTTING OUT QUALITY MUSIC AND FOR YOUR INFO I DID BUY HER ALBUM AND I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT HER. ALL MONEY ISNT GOOD MONEY AND SHE DOESNT HAVE TO BE NUMBER ONE TO BE SUCCESSFUL TO HAVE SEVERAL SEATS.

    • DOSSOME April 22, 2013

Who said Two Eleven was better than Afrodisiac or Human?….ALL HER ALBUMS WERE GREAT..6 consecutive critically acclaimed albums with no filler tracks whatsoever is worth all the praise…And she is thoroughly underrated so don’t call her vocals overrated when musicians respect her for that very voice

  25. DIGGER BEY April 22, 2013

Lmao @ the F** Boi Kerry. U mean KING B’S 4 ALBUMS SELLING 118 MILLION >>>>>>>>>> R****’s 7 albums 100 million. Isn’t R**** the one constantly changing wigs lmao. #WHO’S WIG GOT SNATCHED

    • Kerry Johnson April 22, 2013

LMAO!!!!!! Look F***** Rihanna is breaking records left and right, go check out here latest news, something beyonce has yet to do 🙂 And LOUD, TTT, and Unapologetic have all outsold 4 and you will deal.

I think i’ll keep your wig and give it to my auntie for her birthday!!!!!

  26. DOSSOME April 22, 2013

How the hell is a label supposed to make profit if they refuse to promote and market their artists…I thought it’s common sense that NO PROMO=NO RETURNS..Investing only in the few acts that sell when the majority got potential just waiting for that push that labels refuses to give just screams incompetence to me…Shame on you RCA

    • DOSSOME April 22, 2013

      *refuse

  27. POP ROYALTY ( RUDE BOY) April 22, 2013

SHE just didn’t care about her album In the first place.

    • BITCHPLEASEEEE April 22, 2013

      WHY THOUGH???

  28. Starz April 22, 2013

I still believe that the reason Brandy didnt sell that well was due to lack of promotion and bad marketing. We waited forever for a video for put it down and then forever for a lackluster video for wildest dreams. ‘Do you know’ could definitely be a summer hit that could get lots of play. Two Eleven deserves way more than 2 singles. its not the music thats not getting sales, its the way her label/team is going about things. Doyouknow needs a nice ass music video with some new choreography and Brandy will be back on the charts. At the end of the day, brandy should either invest in herself like kelly rowland does and pay for her music videos if the label won’t….or release new music that didnt make two eleven!

    • DOSSOME April 22, 2013

      EXACTLY…

  29. Mother Monster April 22, 2013

A petition to release another single wow brandys fans that desperate

    • A. April 22, 2013

its not about being desperate, is about wanting your fave artist to have a decent era, like she should have.

These stupid labels dont really support their artists. No era should stop on second single, thats a huge mistake.

If she had two more singles, she would get 300,000 units easily, and thats a WIN for a r&b album.

Chris Brown and Usher haven even reached 500,000 units, so I dont understand what fans and Labels specially are expecting from these other r&b artists

  30. Navy Nick April 22, 2013

STARZ SAID IT BEST-AMEN!!!! this album is too dang good to just let it go down the drain-SAD! I STILL BUMP EVERY SONG SO HARD!!!!!

  31. Kerry Johnson April 22, 2013

Brandy needs to b**** slap Beyoncé HARD

  32. Rez April 22, 2013

Let all be honest, Brandy is one of the best vocalist in the game. BLACK ARTISTS’ albums are not selling nowaday for example, Keyshia Cole, Usher, Chris Brown, Kelly Rowland, Melanie Fiona, Monica, Miguel.. So, if you considered Brandy a “Flop” then your artists aare too.. So stop the hating, shade and important of them all JEALOUSY. Nowaday, it’s about your singles selling and not albums. Brandy deserve a 3rd single, cause Two Eleven is an amazing album to go to waste. Brandy and the STARZ deserved this much!! And that’s a FACT..

  33. RoyalKev April 22, 2013

As far as I’m concerned, giving this single play is a no brainer! I guarantee that after releasing Do You Know… this Two Eleven era will not be over!

  34. Monica Stan April 22, 2013

    The “Starz” are DESPERATE honey

    • Monica is a ghetto goat April 22, 2013

Has monica Flop Life hit 200k yet?

      • DOVE April 22, 2013

LONG AGO YOU IDIOT…YOU ARE THE GHETTO GOAT. PUT YOUR MOUTH IN A BEES HIVE AND LEAVE HER ALONE. SHE NEVER LIES TO THE MEDIA. SHE IS REAL AND HER LIFE IS A OPEN BOOK.

  35. christinastherealtalent April 22, 2013

i love brandy truly but the music she has released post Full Moon sucks. I dont think she will ever match Never Say Never success. If Brandy were to make stronger R&B music then she would be able to reclaim some of that R&B status she once owned.

At this point, it is pointless to release another single from Two Eleven. Put It Down was hot and No Such Thing As Too Late shouldve been released but this project is beyond being able to be salvaged.

A lot of these female acts like Christina, Alicia, Mariah, etc need to quit trying to compete with other female acts out there and remind their fans why they fell in love with them.

  36. Mark111 April 22, 2013

How bout you b****** buy the album and song Vs signing a petition. One thing about Rihanna, the fans always chooses the 3rd single on all of her albums. What? Are they suppose to release a 3rd singles just for air play? Are the stars planning on re-buying the song? With 187k albums sold, that’s more then a flop, it’s DOA: Dead on Arrival. Talk about beating a dead horse.

    • Mark111 April 22, 2013

One more thing, this is why you NEVER push back your album. I don’t get it or why they do it. Look, It All Belongs To Me should’ve stay the first single, drop the album in April (or whatever it was suppose to drop) and then Put It Down would’ve been the 2nd single, the song was big, so people would’ve had an album to buy Vs waiting 7 months. Ciara did the same crap with BI, why would I buy your album with three failed singles before the album even drop. That’s why I love Rihanna, you’re getting a hot first single, the next month a video and an album release date, KEEPING THE DATE, a week before the album drops, you’ll getting a 2nd single, album drops and you the fans pick the next hot track.

  37. Bow Down April 22, 2013

211 ,hasn’t sold 200k yet wtf this era is over

  38. Unapologetic April 22, 2013

Sad and pathetic. When you have to do that much for your fave to release a third damn single its time for EVERYONE involved to realize her time is up. She had a good run but nothing lasts forever. Give it up Trandy.

  39. Bow Down April 22, 2013

Her fans need to do better if they want more singles.. they cant even get her to go gold yet want a 3rd single GTFOH

  40. DATRUTHTELLA April 22, 2013

BRANDY HAS HAD THREE FLOP ALBUMS IN A ROW IM SURPRISED SHE HASN’T BEEN DROPPED YET. THE ALBUM PROMO WAS HORRIBLE AND SLOW AND THE SECOND SINGLE WAS DESTINED TO FLOP IT HAD ZERO COMMERCIAL APPEAL I DON’T FEEL SORRY FOR HER SHE HAS TO GRIND IF SHE WANTS TO WIN MUSICALLY.AT THIS RATE SHELL NEVER SEE ANOTHER GOLD OR PLATINUM CERTIFICATION SORRY SHES A HASBEEN

  41. MIMI Carey April 22, 2013

    This is embarrassing!!!!

So sad she can’t sell a album for s***

  42. MIMI Carey April 22, 2013

Her fans need to be buying those albums instead of making some damn petition

    • Bran Star April 22, 2013

Did you even buy the album?

  43. Antonio April 22, 2013

This time, I’m not blaiminq Brandy at all. She was very outspoken about this album and it’s material from the jump. It was her label/team that didn’t know what they were doinq from the jump. So let’s be real. Ppl only checked for Put It Down which was so fuxkinq ridiculous, I almost stopped checkinq for Brandy, because CB was on it and that wasn’t even enough to make an huqe hit, then they followed up with Wildest Dreams, which was an Never Say Never/Full Moon leftover track tbh. If Brandy wanted to a stronq/solid comeback last year, she should’ve released Let Me Go as the lead sinqle, performed that sonq on multiple summer awards shows (BET/Billboard/VMA) and did shows like GMA, The View, Ellen, Today, Kelly & Michael first then shows like 106, Wendy Williams, Morninq Buzz and Lopez after the album was released. Released Without You as the 2nd sinqle and performed that on the major late niqht talk shows (Letterman, Leno, Kimmel, Conan), then No Such Thinq as the 3rd sinqle, Do You Know as the 4th and So Sick as the 5th and final sinqle. As a huqe Brandy fan, 185k for an album that could’ve sold 185k in the 1st wk is just embarrassinq. This album by now, could be at least 850k in the US and around 1 million in international sales for a WW total of nearly 2 million because sonqs like Let Me Go, Without You, No Such Thinq, Hardly Breathinq, Scared of Beautiful and even So Sck could’ve been marketed/promoted and released on all radio/digital formats other than urban. I just hope her team/label qets it toqether asap

  44. Righthere4BRANDY April 22, 2013

As a huge fan of music and an even bigger fan of Brandy’s, I have to say that I don’t think there should be a 3rd single! Reason being is this album is too old now! I think that Brandy should jus hurry up get married and, then get right to work on her next album. Anyone who’s heard the album know that 211 its an amazing album. To me she should just use this album as a plaform to re-establish her self as an entertainer. Even though this album didn’t do that well in sales it recieved an overwhelming amont of good reviews and, definitely has people checking for her again. As far as promotion her label does need to step it up but I believe she will win again very soon.

    • BITCHPLEASEEEE April 22, 2013

YOU GIVE UP TOO EASILY. DOING THAT WILL GET YOU NOWHERE IN LIFE SO JUST HAVE FAITH AND KEEP PRESSING HARD IN LIFE. 🙂

    • yeah April 23, 2013

No Doubt promoted ‘Tragic Kingdom’ for two years and now it’s one of the most highly acclaimed albums of all time. I believe Brandy can keep promoting the album, it isn’t too old.

  45. Navy Sailor!!! April 22, 2013

Sorry B-Rocka, there IS a such thing as too late. Two Eleven is damn near 7 months old, with the last single being released 5 months ago. Stick a fork in it, and head back to the studio. #justkeepingitreal

Next time, she needs a well executed marketing PLAN!

  46. Ken Dahl’s P**** April 22, 2013

B****** sign the f***** petition. Queen Brandy’s reign will never end!

  47. Tom April 22, 2013

I love Brandy, but I have to keep it 100% when I say I did not feel the album at all. It was tired and uninspired. She records SO MANY songs that never get released, usually because they sound like the same R&B/Adult Contemporary mesh that she has been doing for years. Human was so much of a better album than this.

Sure, it has some nice album cuts, but NOTHING on the album was single-worthy. She needs a smash uptempo to get people excited.

  48. eric April 22, 2013

I thought “Without You” was shaping up to be the 3rd single after Brandy performed it at BET Honors. It would still make an excellent choice imo.

  49. Dev April 22, 2013

To be honest i dont think there was ever going to be a third single. I think R&B artist get a two video deal where there is one to drum up interest in the artist/release, and another to let people know the product is still out. As record labels dont forsee big sales they dont see a point of extending a budget further and making a loss. this is why R&B artists need to choose the singles wisly. I think that the same thing with happen with Fantasia’s album, i think that without you will be the last single/video we see although good, should’ve not been the one to catapult the album. If you look at Monica and Keyisha they didn’t get a 3rd video although having good sales. the only R&B artist whon seems to have money thrown after them no matter how unsuccessful theyb are is Ciara. I’m not throwing any shade but who in this day gets two expensive looking video’s without a bonified hit and then a third?

    • MUSIC MAESTRO April 22, 2013

THEY SHOULD’VE RELEASED A VIDEO FOR MONICA WITHOUT YOU BUT THEY DIDN’T. THE AUDIO HAS OVER A MILLION HITS ON YOUTUBE. POLOW THA DON DID A GREAT JOB WITH THAT SONG. BRANDY 2/11 WAS A GREAT ALBUM. THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS MESSY. I DON’T SEE ANY CHANGE COMING. I WILL JUST ENJOY THE MUSIC. THE LABELS ARE A WASTE OF TIME. THEY ARE FULL OF POLITICS AND RED TAPES. BRANDY, MONICA, SHANICE, TEVIN CAMPBELL…KEEP MAKING GOOD MUSIC. KEEP THE ALBUMS COMING. HELL WITH CHART POSITIONS AND RECORD SALES. GREAT MUSIC LIVES ON!

  50. Brandys Starr April 22, 2013

This is old news. Yall are late on this blog.

  51. Jessy April 22, 2013

I hope she makes it a third single!

  52. JER April 22, 2013

I’m really not here for Brandy after the struggles she put fans thru the past 10 years. The Afrodisiac era lasted minutes and we had to wait forever and then were stuck with Human as the only Brandy music for 7 years SMH. I hear that 211 is good but, like I said, I wasn’t about to even try it with Brandy after these struggles.I haven’t listened to it entirely and I’m not going to AND I’m not the only one. Brandy, her team, her albums, her singles, and her fans stay struggling for 15 years now. Yal were lucky to get an album PERIOD and then to get “All Belongs To Me,” “Put It Down” and “Wildest Dreams” yal should be on hands and knees thankful the album isn’t still sitting on shelves. I swear some of yal act like Brandy has been hot when she hasn’t been lukewarm in 15 years

  53. JER April 22, 2013

    LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OH MY GOD I CAN’T BREATHE.

I just saw the amount of signatures

730? 730 signatures? That’s Brandy’s fanbase? 700 people? And you know the gorls were logging the f*** in so that’s about 300 people. Smh. SMH. Es. Em. Aitch.

    • SLAYRIAH CAREY (#1 DIVA) April 22, 2013

      LOL….

I AM DYING. GURL STOP I CANNOT F****** BRAETHE.

    • Denise April 22, 2013

Dont de so silly. 730 people signed, it doesn’t mean that, that is the whole fanbase it means that just 730 people signed. I am a brandy fan and didn’t sign because i dont feel that there should be anymore singles and if there was “Do You Know” wouldn’t be my choice.

  54. STERLING INFINITY (The New Prince) April 22, 2013

I’m rooting for her! It really comes down to her having to rebuild or reawaken her fan-base as a whole… She will get there!!

I love Two Eleven, I love the time and creative approach Brandy took with this album but I feel this is just an album her fans are going to have to just cherish and come to terms with it not being promoted anymore.. There’s no money to put out a new single. If she does just put the song on radio, it’ll flop because no push will be behind it. If you want her to put out another single, then tell everyone and their mommas to buy that album to get those numbers up!

  56. Gogo April 22, 2013

Brandys team caused this by waiting SOOOOOO long to MAKE A VIDEO for a banger like Put It Down!! Put It Down wouldve been much bigger if her team worked faster to push PUT IT DOWN!!THEY NEED TO WANT IT!

  57. MUSICHEAD April 22, 2013

Wildest Dreams killed this album. It was a weak 2nd single and the worst choice to follow up a #1 single like Put It Down. It should’ve been Slower.

Also, the label did not push this project at Pop radio AT ALL! This album should be platinum by now.

And btw, Do You Know will not save this album. Without You or Wish Your Love Away are the only logical choices for a single right now as we head into Spring/Summer. But I will support the petition anyway.

    • Marlafb123 April 26, 2013

I agree. Do You Know is not the kind of song Brandy needs to release. Neither was Wildest Dreams. I heard the rumor that Without You was her third single and looked forward to Brandy having a number one single especially after her performance on BET and now I’m reading this (not to mention I hadn’t seen Without You on the charts). I can’t believe this is happening to Brandy. But truthfully, all artist (the very best of them) hit the stage that she’s in now even Michael Jackson. It’s hard for Brandy because she’s still a young woman. But she started her career very young and she’s had an AMAZING ride from my seat. I’m grateful she’s multitalented and hope that she will consider making more movies because I loved her role in Temptation. But she will always be an icon in my book and her music will always be special to me because she’s an artist that truly sings and inspires me with her music. I don’t care if it’s over for her, I will always love her.

  58. TeamBreezy April 22, 2013

Dont talk about artists that are “force fed” to the masses and then try to petition a single from an album that has been out over 7 months and hasnt sold 200k ….

    talk about force feeding ….

  59. dee April 22, 2013

This song is weak. I prefer Let Me Go, Scared of Beautiful, and No Such Thing.

  60. Liberation April 22, 2013

Brandy’s team dropped the ball AS USUAL. When is she gonna stop waiting around for her label and take her career into her own hands? Drop a mixtape, finance your own video or something. You can’t keep disappearing for years and expecting to come back with a bang. Two Eleven was a great album, but I didn’t expect it to do anything because she has had horrible management since 2004.

  61. Kyle April 22, 2013

“Two Eleven” is one of Brandy’s best albums, but at the end of the day it’s a business so why would RCA want to spend the money to shoot a video and promote a song from an album that has been long gone on the charts? The only way I see this becoming a single is if Brandy decides to spend her own money on it or if her dedicated fan club that wasted their time making this video wanted to fund some cash, then I can see this happening. As for that video, those queens need to take a seat. That was so cheesy and stupid.

  62. Bran Star April 22, 2013

Oh wow! What a flop and has been Brandy must be! You haters can say whatever you want. Most of it is lies and pure b*******. I’ve been down with Brandy for years, and I’m riding this Mississippi train till the wheels fall off.

All these people coming for the starz saying “y’all should be buying the album, not signing a petition” sit the f*** down somewhere. Most, if not all of the people signing have bought it already. Tell your piracy illegal ass downloading cheapskate friends to stop getting the music for free and buy the music.

Two Eleven is an amazing piece of work, as is all of Brandy albums. She takes her time and always manages to come back with a solid, critically acclaimed piece of work. But as usual, she’s been the casualty once again of bad business decision, branding, and poor marketing. The music will never be an issue with Brandy. Promoting it and making sure the public HEARS the music constantly is KEY. If she won’t get that, we’ll be facing this problem repeatedly.

As a matter of fact, maybe a mixtape…Since the label won’t release single, Brandy should just release her own material. Build her own little buzz. I simply cannot allow myself to get to excited about Brandy releasing new music as long as she’s with the same management team.

  63. Bran Star April 22, 2013

And another f****** thing. I just know people aren’t trying to say she’s “washed up, done, or her time is up”. What the f*** do you mean? Like, what are some of y’all trying to say?

Two Eleven isn’t even a year old yet.
The music is still fairly recent, IMO.
She has a current role on The Game on BET,
and she’s in Tyler Perry’s movie “Temptation”.

Let’s be REAL here and face facts. Brandy is far from done. Her career stretches almost 20 years in entertainment. She’s not going anywhere! Y’all need a bried Brandy history lesson. She’s worked with and/or performed with LEGENDS like Lou Rawls, Smokey Robinson, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, and MORE…She can put those things on her resume, can your faves say the same?

She is re-establishing herself as a multi-media ICON in music, TV, and film…Like, what other black female R&B singer, particularly from the 90s is doing it? I’ll wait.

    • Chillin April 23, 2013

Well said! these stupid ass kids know nothing about music and history..throwing around this word Flop and dont even know s*** about accomplishments…so caught up in the new age of hte music industry full of b******* and non talented people making millions

    • Mark111 April 23, 2013

Get over it, it’s a wrap! Brandy been flopping for the past ten years, Full Moon came out on 02, it’s 2013. No one care for the past 4 albums in the past 10 years, she’s pretty much a Disney t*** star without Disney, just a t*** star who couldn’t cross over to adult hood. Her and Monica must had not wanted it back then, cause they were pop stars with HITS Their music had edge and was some what forward, but safe, they didn’t take the chance like Aaliyah did with their sound and with their 3 to 4 years breaks, they never released songs on soundtracks to keep them known. So when the next gen acts like Ashanti, Alicia Keys, Beyonce came along, B and M got lost in that mix and we all know who came out the winner in that mix. I still hear Aaliyah’s music today as if it was released yesterday, I even hear Monica’s classics, but Brandy never had classics, her music was never timeless like the other two, it was in THAT moment when her songs was hot. SOOOO, the only way that Brandy paved was the Disney and Nick t*** stars, how they balanced a hit tv show and music at the same time, but after age 19, it’s over (Duff, Lohand, Miley, Salena, Jonas Bros and countless others.)

      • Bran Star April 23, 2013

Get over yourself! Who are you? You need to stop hating so hard, and use that energy to get a JOB. Or take your ass down to the unemployment office. I’m sick of jacknut hating banjee ass h*** like yourself trying to tear this woman down. You’re the epitome of people who would tel her to “have a seat”. Why don’t you? I’ll tell you what she says to that, she wants to STAND. Let Brandy f****** Stand then!

If she’s still ‘flopping’ then why are you checking for her on blog sites ten years later? You haters lose at your own f****** pitiful ass game. If someone is truly irrelevant to you, don’t put any energy into them! Yet here you are posting this essay expecting someone to take your ass seriously. Yeah f****** right.

Brandy has carved out a lane for herself that no one can take away! There’s PLENTY of people out there who would want the accomplishments and career that she has, oh how quickly you forget! Now go have a STADIUM full of seats with all your foolishness and fuckery, you’re f****** dismissed stage left.

      • Mark111 April 23, 2013

I have a job, in school and got my own s***, clearly why I’m sitting at HOME browsing the wed after a long days work, even at work, I jump on here on my break. So that GET A JOB AND A LIFE isn’t gonna work on me. How bought Brandy get a hit and a gold album. I spoke facts:

Fact, Brady hasn’t had a hit album in 10 years.
Fact, 2/11 is DEAD, you dust stars aren’t getting a 3rd flop single (at least not on THIS album.)
Fact, that past Brandy paved stopped in 2002.

You told me to have a stadium of seats, that same stadium that Brady will never perform on.

      • Bran Star April 24, 2013

And I can see that checking for Brandy updates has been added to your resume as one of your jobs! Have a damn seat, pathetic loser! Like I said before, haters like yourself are filled with nothing but bitterness, jealousy, and LIES!!

You’re f****** done! Now accept your failure and get the f*** over it, c***!

    • @ Bran Star April 26, 2013

For the record you seem to enjoy shading other artists to prove a point for Brandy. No one doubted the fact that Brandy acting career started first. Truth be told Aaliyah and Monica never jumped on the scene like that and neither did Brandy paved any way for them musically.

Monica does not have a 3 octave range….YReally!!! you must be tone deaf or something.

Please note Monica is a mezzo soprano and Brandy is a contralto…Different range and tone. I don’t compare.

  64. credits April 23, 2013

i believe the best thing everybody can do to support this song, is buy it on itunes, amazon and what not. try and get it in the top 10 or something. numbers don’t lie. Brandy i love you anyway!!

  65. Casual April 23, 2013

But promoting to radio and shooting videos and getting them aired cost money. Does Brandy have a multi-format SMASH — a song that will sell big on its own and re-ignite interest in her album — anywhere on this album? Put It Down had a hot video and did well on the charts from airplay, but it wasn’t a big seller. From the label’s POV, another single is just throwing good money after bad.

  66. deniseblack April 24, 2013

finally brandy is back nice to see you stepping out the box I like

  67. WHY YOU MAD April 24, 2013

WHY DO YOU B****** HATE BRANDY SO MUCH??? LMAO LIKE OMG!!! YALL TALKING AALIYAH (WHOOOO) LMAO CIARA (LMAO) MONICA (IM WEAK LOL) ETC. ETC. POINT BLANK PERIOD BRANDY NOT ONLY OPENED THE DOORS FOR THESE WOMEN BUT SHE BUILT THE HOUSE FOR THEM H***!!! LOL STOP HATING AND GET IT TOGETHER, THE SAD THING ABOUT IT IS YAL TALKIN BOUT PEOPLE DONT CARE ABOUT BRANDY NO MORE AND 2/11 IS FLOPPING?????? THAT ALBUM WAS A #1 ALBUM WITH <<<>> TWO SINGLES (SHE WON) LOL AND PEOPLE LOOOOOVE BRANDY (INCLUDING YOU HATERS WHICH IS WHY YAL COMMENTED) AND SHE IS SITTIN BACK RICH AND NOT GIVIN TWO F**** BECAUSE SHE NEVER WENT BROKE ALWAYS MADE MONEY AND STILL IS. ALBUM, TOURING, THE GAME, TEMPTATION, MAKING OTHER PEOPLE DREAMS COME TRUE, ETC ETC……………= WINNING and SHARING. what yo fav doing?? not noticing anybody or anything but yo dollars lol…

    • BE QUIET April 24, 2013

YOU ARE THE ONE THAT’S MAD. FIRST AND FOREMOST I DON’T HAVE ANYTHING ON BRANDY BUT WHERE DID SHE PAVE THE WAY FOR AALIYAH AND MONICA. AALIYAH WAS OUT FIRST THEN BRANDY FOLLOWED BY MONICA. YOU ARE LOOKING AT THREE DIFFERENT STYLES AND PERSONALITIES; I MUST SAY OF THE THREE MONICA IS THE STRONGEST VOCALLY. TO BE HONEST, I WAS MORE DRAWN TO MONICA’S DEBUT ALBUM “MISS THANG” THAN AALIYAH’S AND BRANDY’S DEBUT.

      • Bran Star April 24, 2013

        Let me correct some things.

Aaliyah’s album didn’t come out until 94, Brandy already started her career in entertainment by being an actress on “Thea”. Yeah, it may not have been directly music related, but it prepared her for it. She was singing on the show, and it was still entertainment.

How is monica the strongest vocally? She’s really not. Belting long notes for a long time and having a thick, heavy tone doesn’t make you a great singer. She doesn’t even have 3 octaves…LOL Brandy has a wider range than Monica, fact! Brandy has a more distinct tone, and has displayed much better control and technique than monica! When it comes to technical skills, Brandy just has much more to offer/show off/display than monica. And that’s not me being a stan, that’s just the truth. LOL If you think she’s the best just know that is your personal preference!

        Any questions?

  68. Hmmm April 24, 2013

That’s her label doing. Brandy has no control over putting out singles or how many.

  69. Chris May 5, 2013

the album stunk… thats why it tanked. It doesnt need any more “marketing”..for gosh sakes it was ALLLL marketing and no “quality music”. But I agree with the person that said that no one really is making good music anymore. Hmm. does song writer Diane Warren have any more songs to gift the world. Team up with Dian Warren..and sing over a Hip Hop beat with lots of RUNS. But I see she took the advise to bring back her Braids….. seems they DO read emails.. but we should have specified… “good music”
