With a budget of $100 million, the flick’s opening weekend brought in a sweet $33,500,000- going on to pull in $42,600,000 million in the market.
When this figure is added to the $42,900,000 the movie has grossed internationally, its current combined earnings come to the aforementioned 85 million- achieved three days after its US release.
Released by Brian Keane‘s ‘Blue Sky Studios’, the movie’s Box Office win marks the latest for the ‘Yes’ singer, whose 2009 movie ‘Obsessed’ pulled in $73,830,340 across the globe upon its April 24th release.

I’m also guessing the studio paid Beyonce a lot more than they could have paid someone that would have done just as good of a job or better. I have no problem if they want to use Beyonce to sing a song for the movie but don’t use pop and soul singers for the character voices.

Rabat, Morocco – Rihanna made history on Friday night (May 24) at the kickoff of Morocco’s annual Mawazine Music Festival, performing for a crowd of 150,000 — a new record — in the country’s capital.

The film was good, definitely aimed at small kids and families. There are so many ‘Antz’ and “A Bugs Life’ elements, its sure to be a hit! Beyonce was well cast as the Queen. Her speaking voice was really calm and assuring. Hope it does well for her and all those involved:)

That massive promo campaign and big budget did nothing to prevent that big FLOP name battleship from opening at #8 and only grossing 25 million in it’s opening weekend. Even Universal studios released a statement about the movie being in the red. Battleship was a huge FLOP among many other projects. I must admit that I did enjoy the movie, but it did flop and did cost the Studio a huge loss.
That’s exctly what I’m trying to tell these pressed haters. Battleship might’ve grossed $302M but when it comes to profits, it didn’t even make $100M more than it’s budget. Beyonce has at least 2 ones which were able to do that if you include DVD sales.
Plus, Beyonce’s BO is about to surpass $1B despite total budget being no more than $375M, which’s great.
