Vocal sensation Ariana Grande lived up to her billing tonight at the 2013 MTV Video music Awards. The 20-year-old was tapped to perform at the pre-show of the show’s 30th anniversary, thrilling the millions watching with a medley of breakout hit ‘The Way’ and current single ‘Baby I’.

Of course, the granny two-step during ‘Baby I’ was criminal, yet how can one fault a performance so vocally on-point? Watching this has us super amped because it reaffirms the incredible potential Ariana has to be a formidable performer – with the right tweaking. A choreographer and/or movement coach wouldn’t go amiss nor would a wind machine. Still, though, great showing.

I really want to like her but this 12 year old look is just… Also, her overall tone of voice is annoying. I liked her voice on record cause she reminds me a Mimi, but live she sounds like her true self which is not my cup of tea.
Vocally she was great, performance wise not so much but there’s always room for growth! Go Ariana!
