With the latest iteration of the coveted count unveiled, it brings with it the news that Grande has debuted in pole position with the ‘eternal sunshine’ anthem.
Serving as the superstar’s 9th #1 on the chart, the track – which arrived alongside its housing album – pulled off the feat with the following US stats:
- Streaming: 32.6 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales: 9,000 digital downloads
- Radio airplay: 4.6 million audience impressions
In notching the #1 spot, Grande makes history on several fronts:
- She becomes the first female artist in history to have two albums spawn multiple #1-debuting singles on the Hot 100.
- She breaks the record for the most #1 debuts on the Hot 100 among women (7).
- She becomes the first artist to score multiple #1 singles on the Hot 100 in 2024.
- She now ties Drake as the artist with the most #1 singles on the Hot 100 this decade (7).
Elsewhere on this week’s Hot 100, Grande’s previous chart-topping single – ‘yes, and?’ – climbs back into the top 10 at #10.
As reported, ‘eternal sunshine’ debuted at #1 with the year’s highest first-week sales so far.
