Moments ago, Bruno Mars brought his unique brand of electricity to the MET Life Stadium during his much-hyped Super Bowl 2014 Half-Time spectacle.

The Grammy winning superstar was joined by rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers during the must see showing, which follows Beyonce’s mega-watt performance last year.

A worthy follow-up, watch Mr Mars show and prove after the jump….

Amazing. Not Beyonce. Not Madonna. But amazing nonetheless.

It was nice. I like more instrumental based performances like that. Prince will always be the best to me but Bruno was alright. Also, was there something wrong with the mic when the Red Hot Chili peppers came on? I could barely hear their voices or the lyrics.

    ZANIA says:

This is a Beyonce and Rihanna blog so their not going to give him credit. The whole world disagree, Its been a long time since I seen so many positive tweets for an artist, I really didn’t see no bad tweets, most people were saying this was the best Superbowl performance in years, real talent, he sing, dance and played music, The families of America is proud, their children didnt have to close their eyes. Great Job Bruno.

so much better than that stripper with a mic last year! at least he sang longer than .37 seconds and let his back up singers sing the rest. he didn’t need to use his tits and ass to distract the fact that he’s boring. cause he’s a real musician unlike thiefonce

Will I watch this 117 times on repeat like I did beyonce last year? Absolutely not. One time was enough.

The performance was great. I don’t see it making any “Superbowl greatest…” list, but it was really good. Glad he proved the majority of Twitter, who said he looked a Puerto Rican lesbian and thought he was untalented, wrong.

My only criticism is that I wish he would have waited like 5 more years so the majority of the people watching him would have known who he was.

    Eh..Not Better than Beyonce’s or Madonna’s
Why? Madonna takes the Production vote, While Beyonce takes pretty much else, vocal, dancing etc

Let Me make this clear,I didn’t say that to undermine his. Bruno is one of the last true male vocalist we have in this era. It’s just it was a little tame.

How on God’s green earth can a Miley Cyrus stan be talking about Beyonce! Beyonce>Miley in every performance, every vocal performance,on all fronts!

Also sheesh, why do people coming to this blog if all they ever do is complain about it. Some people need to take some prozac and chill out. It should be illegal to be so pressed! Anyway best half-time show in years my balls, taint and a***! it was just ok

His performance was incredible but like someone said before you’ve seen it once, you’ve seen it twice. Bruno is a talented musician but he’s not an entertainer. Madonna’s half time show remains the best in my book.

Kelly Rowland stole the show from Beyonce last year, and I remmeber the tweets, mothers were complaining saying that is was too much for tv and men were calling it the best strip show they seen in awhile. I remember one tweet, I a guy said he wanted to through dollars at his tv, so how great is that, you can go to the top strip clubs and get that type of performance.

Meh. I didn’t even bother to watch it. Bruno is a dork and his music is corny, so I knew that his performance was going to be a total snooze. RHCP should have been the headliners, with his as their guest.

    Avenger says:

I’m tired of these cheesy pop stars headlining the half time show. Next year they need to get a hard rock, hip hop or hell even country act to do it. Something a bit more hard, testosterone driven and “male”. This isn’t LOGO, it’s the Superbowl.

She will all be ranked high on Billboard, Forbes New York times, because they do business with her husband and friends with him. You will never see Billboard or Forbes say anything bad about Beyonce or Jay. Jay have a whole lot of politcal power in the industry, just like her Grammy performance everyone was complaining but most of the main blogs like E oline, Forbes Billboard praised her, its about power and money, not real talent Bruno Mars is real talent.

  47. February 2, 2014 at 10:34 pm
    Yolo says:

@Zania Stop lying. Billboard posted that article about her copying and Forbes posted that shady article about her brand at the Grammys. Try again.

  48. February 2, 2014 at 10:39 pm
    zania says:

@Yolo, I am not talking about the reviews, I am talking about the people who actually buy the music, that is what counts. He sells millions because people love him. Look how long its taking Beyonce to sell 500,00 download copies with her top single Drunk in love, and don’t come with me and talk about her album sales, because I know tat Jayz made a deal with billboard and bought her downloads, he is powerful in the music industry, and he wasn’t going to let his wife album fail again like 4. Everything about her is fake. If her album was so great like they trying to convince the public with all the fake bought itunes, it would’ve reflect in her single sales after Grammys. Justin timberlake and Taylor sold million albums in a week and sold millions in singles.

    quetta says:

  50. February 2, 2014 at 10:53 pm
    Yolo says:

‘You will never see Billboard or Forbes say anything bad about Beyonce or Jay’

They have. If Beyoncé and Jay paid them, they would have spilled all that tea on Beyoncé copying.

And all the rest of your comment is a load of vacant, heresay you have drawn up based on your own biased opinion. And sounds stupid the more I read it. The Music industry is huge with so many contributing factors and sources and Beyoncé Jay Z DO NOT have that much power to just go around bribing.

4 would not have ‘failed’ in the first place if they did that. And you’ve come to that conclusion how? By comparing her to Taylor and Justin who both had lead singles, did not release two songs the same time their album came out with videos to accompany it. You sound so simple minded and know nothing about how the industry works if you believe that. This isn’t a movie.

And back on topic, Bruno Mars reviews still aren’t all rosy like you are making out, based on Twitter LOL.

  52. February 2, 2014 at 11:15 pm
    zania says:

@Yolo doesn’t matter what his views is, the public bought millions of his albums and singles, Beyonce will never sell singles like Bruno Mars, she is struggling to sell a million with her top song she dropped. I don’t want to here that people bought her album, People bought over 5 million of Bruno, Taylor and Justin singles and over 3 million albums in the us. It doesn’t matter that she didn’t drop her single first, there are people who buy singles and people who buy albums, where are all the people buying her singles?

  53. February 2, 2014 at 11:24 pm
    Yolo says:

@Zania. I don’t know what point you are trying to make but so far you’re failing. I just corrected you trying to shade Beyonces reviews, now ‘it doesn’t matter’ when you bought it up first? LOL. For one, I bought her album and havn’t even thought about buying the single because I have a full visual album. Beyonce has pushed her album different to all the artists you listed. The focus is on the album NOT the singles. All those artists have pushed singles individually. Beyonce has not. Its really not hard to see whats happening. She has deliberatley gone down the opposed route of having singles push your album. Ask any professional music analyst and its easy to see what shes done. How tf does all what you just prove that she buys her album, when if you use basic logic you’ll understand whats going on?

  54. February 2, 2014 at 11:29 pm
    Yolo says:

The only way she pushed a single was with the grammys, and the song shot straight up Itunes after that.

    He did amazing!!!
All you little girls are so bitter. Beyonce and Madonna did an excellent job, so what? Of course they did better than him visually, they are supposed to be these amazing performers, but Bruno murdered them musically no doubt. His performance was based on live singing, musicianship and message. He did amazing.
For him to do this so early on his career is an achievement itself. And also to the person saying they should have waited a little bit more before letting him perform cos not everybody knows him: let me tell you, he´s like the biggest male music star in the world, his songs are even more popular than Rihanna´s and Katy Perry´s worldwide and he has sold better than them with just his second album. He is quietly killing it, and with an unique style and a girl models-dominated music world. So congrats to Bruno!

    Ms. Jackson says:

Bruno had the best halftime show since Prince in 2007. Pure raw talent, and musicianship. His footwork was nice, good vocals, and he killed it on that drumset. I see there are a lot of dumb ass kids on this blog who don’t know any better, but that’s how you put on a halftime show. He’s had nothing but rave reviews, and his albums are number 1 and 4 on iTunes, respectively. His fanbase has grown even wider now. Make no mistake, Bruno is the last of a dying breed and eons better than that b******* from last year.

Anyway, as the blogger says, its not Madonna or Beyonce’s level of performance but Bruno did an excellent job! He really know how to entertain so give props to him. The drumming is impressive, the vocals are good, he can move too. He just proved that other than these “top performers”, a newbie can also serve in the game.
