After learning the jam wasn’t making ‘Diamonds‘-shaped impact, DJ Mustard announced that he is to release a remix to the cut this Friday, no doubt hoping to reignite interest in the bop.
He announced:
The remix will come after Mustard worked his magic for the likes of Tinashe, Fergie and, if reports made recently are to be believed, his Roc Nation sibling Rita Ora.
If made into an official remix, Mustard’s reimagining of the song will mark the first time he would have worked on a Rihanna single, and come before the release of its parent album, due out later this year.
As it stands, all signs point towards a more experimental album from Rihanna. Exciting? Yes…but also dangerous, especially if the material fails to hold the attention of the fan base more familiar with Top 40 Rihanna than they are with Adult Contemporary Rihanna.
So, here’s hoping the rest of the album boasts cuts that explore her growth as an entertainer without alienating those after her signature chart-dominating sound.

I would agree and say it is a very biased headline / article. Based on the album cover of the remix, this is an intentional decision for her fans, club, and radio. Great strategy to appeal to multiple genres.

I believe that this was all apart of the plan; this could be the dance song she is set to perform at the Grammys.
