Sam Smith‘s hotly anticipated theme for the James Bond Spectre movie has fired off at radio. But will it hit like a bullet?

Premiered moments ago on BBC Radio 1, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ was penned by Smith and Jimmy Napes – who also co-produced the cut with subtle assistance from Disclosure.

Take a listen below…

Very ‘Bond’esque and a fine follow-up to Adele’s ‘Skyfall.’ We approve. Do you?

Boring. Give me Gladys Knights licence to kill or the older themes any day.
I’m still hoping that Alexandra, Joss, Jessie or Leona will sing the theme song one day.
    Better still, Fantasia!

Well my honey DID that. Don’t know why the critics are divided with some calling it the worst. Sam Smith is bigger than Bond right now. I’m here for the song, don’t really care for the film. His vocal is amazing. Mariah should take note.
SAMs voice is so angelic it restored my virginity ready for him to take it again!
When will your fave be called upon to sing for a Bond film???

Shut your ass up you know nothing about the movie business Fäagg Smith is not bigger than an Multi billion dollar timeless movie franchise and Mariah is A legend she don’t need to take note from some newcomer

Adele could never lose the pounds like my boy Sam did

    • marco September 25, 2015

Mariah could bring an emotional beautiful theme to this BOND franchise. A song like “The Wind”, “Looking In”, “Subtle Invitation”.

Mariah could really bring it and some much needed Iconic belts.

I say next year, Mariah should do this theme.

It’s a great song and he delivers as usual. I just hope that the next artist to do a James Bond theme links up in the studio with Madonna to create a “Die Another Day” part 2 for the future film. Madonnas theme is one of the most iconic, commercially-successful, and widely-regarded themes for the Movies.

    • Christina Aguilera September 25, 2015

Not ass iconic as Golden Eye ane Gold Finger…

I agree, but you have to admit that Madonna’s theme was like NONE others. The depth of the lyrics, the metaphysical questioning of the purpose of her loving, even the mention of Sigmund Freud separated this theme from the rest by light years. I’m still impressed by how successful it was, even though it was so experimental and it came from her flop “American Life” era, in which at that time she was publicly scrutinized for being anti-American. That song is a thought-provoking masterpiece.
