Missy Elliott kicked her year off with a bang and is set to end it with one as well.

After winning the Super Bowl with her high octane comeback performance at this year’s halftime show, fans waited with bated breath for news about the femcee’s new music.  Well, the wait is finally over.

Last night, during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” fans were treated to a tease of her new single ‘WTF (Where They From)’ featuring fellow singer/rapper/producer Pharrell Williams.  Did you miss it?

Fret not, because we’ve got you covered with your first listen and news on when you can hear the song in full:

“…Missy Elliott (@MissyElliott) and ESPN (@ESPNNBA) have teamed up to tip off the 2015-16 NBA season. A sneak peak of Elliott’s new single – “WTF (Where They From)” feat. Pharrell Williams (@Pharrell) – will air this Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. ET during NBA Countdown, ESPN’s NBA pre-game show. The snippet will also be showcased throughout ESPN’s opening-night NBA doubleheader on Wednesday, which is also available on WatchESPN.

Additionally, “WTF (Where They From)” feat. Pharrell Williams will be integrated with ESPN’s NBA game and studio coverage throughout the early part of the season.”

Now this is what we’re talking about!  In typical Missy fashion, the rap diva is going big and pulling out major stops to accent her long-awaited comeback.  Word has it she’s already filmed a video for the tune, due for digital download on November 13.

We can’t wait to see what ‘The Cookbook’ creator is serving up. It’s been far too long!

“Dance Alone”, “Keep it Movin'”, and “Bottoms Up” are everything! Her first album is such a mature bop forget age back then. The other Disney Channel kids, maybe except for Raven, weren’t even capable of delivering consistent albums like that.

That dude in keke’s video looks like Tia Mowry’s husband and what she is saying in the song….hmm those rumours…lol

It seems like she’s trying to recreate the music she has already done. That sound is dead. She keeps talking about timeless music. I think people are actually here for her if she promotes. I wonder if Missy gets in the Top 40 Nicki will be pissed and release music. What yall think?

Why didn’t she release immediately after the Superbowl when not one but THREE of her memorable and iconic hits were charting simultaneously, and all in the top 40 of the Hot 100? That would’ve been the absolute best time to surprise people. Well, I guess Jan and Missy are both back to deal with some unfinished business.

Do you know she has a serious disease?

  4. No favs, just here for the music October 27, 2015

I’m so excited about this! She received so much love from the SuperBowl performance even though some of the current generation didn’t even know who she was lol!
But like she said it just proves her music is truly timeless.

It’ll be interesting to see how much support she gets. Hip Hop fans talk about how they want older femcees to make proper comebacks but then don’t support. No doubt Missy is coming with the heat like always.

It sounds a bit dated? It has the same Pharrell beat. I like the Missy/Janet callabo better. Speaking of Janet, when is she going to release a video for this song? No sleep has been asleep for months now.

Waiting for that JANET/MISSY Video to set the world on fire.

Is it me or has Janet’s team failed to delivery after all the HYPE. They build great a promotional effort then after the CD is released…..they disappear.

A video should have been shot for Burning It up – weeks ago. Then delivery the video to Broken Hearts heal…that is almost as good as Boyz II MEN and Mariah’s One sweet day.

I like what I hear, can’t wait to hear the official full version.

Missy’s music has been very dated as of late. I’ve always wanted her to do a straight up R&B record.

I can’t wait!! Finally!! I’m glad she’s healthy again and ready to dive back into music as an artist.

Let me just start of Missy Misdemeanor Elliott is coming back again!!!!! She’s about to snatch all of us bald with the new s*** she’s bringing out. And the typical comments about her being “outdated” is a REACH. Missy has always experimented and created her sound. She doesn’t need to do no gimmicky s*** just to remain a true artist. Funny how people are hard on artists like her and Janet because they’re from an era where they made music and were able to put out hot s*** without sounding redundant. Janet is already established and so is Missy. Let’s see how things will be for Missy since she’s bringing the heat once again. I’m a longtime fan and supporter so these comments about her not being able to sustain her relevancy is beyond me. But I do know for a FACT she will always come out with a f****** banging. That’s real s***!!!! I see you Missy!!!!
