November 2010 delivered the rapper’s debut album ‘Pink Friday.’
Sales of the set crossed the 1 million units mark within the first month of its release and this year, almost six years after its release, the set has been certified 3x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Released before streaming points were factored into the certification system, the Pop and R&B-kissed Hip-Hop effort reached the milestone by way of pure sales, supported by the singles ‘Right Thru Me’, ‘Your Love’, ‘SuperBass’ and ‘Did It On ‘Em.’
Minaj isn’t the only artist with good news to celebrate today.
The British artist MNEK has learned that his Zara Larsson-led cut ‘Never Forget You‘ has been certified Gold in the United States.
Released via Epic Records, the single joins a long list of hits penned by the former, making its way to U.S. retailers on September 10th 2015 after it was certified 4x platinum in Sweden and peaked at #5 in the U.K.

I think streaming is a great way to let us know whose being listened to. I can buy a cd and listen to it not like it and NEVER listen to it again and who would know? Streaming lets u know straight up who ppl are listening to. I think its great cuz alot of ppl sale of their name and once the music is bought there’s a sale whether the music is good or bad. Thats the point of it all if u ask me, ppl got so lost in charting all the different charts and there favs quality of music was forgotten. Now we will know who makes music the world likes, who are the underdogs and who is nothing but hype.
