Drake‘s ‘VIEWS‘ has reached a impressive streaming milestone.

As he prepares to enjoy life away from Cash Money, the rapper has learned that his latest studio set has been streamed over 1 billion times.
In total, the album’s tracks have now generated more than 1 billion on-demand audio streams in the U.S. — 1.07 billion to be more exact. (The latest tracking week pushed the album over the 1 billion mark, as it added more than 160 million streams to its total tally.)
When coupled with the units it sold this week, the project’s streaming digits kept the album at #1 on the Billboard 200 for another week (its fourth so far), outperforming Ariana Grande‘s ‘Dangerous Woman’ and Rihanna‘s latest LP ‘ANTI.’
With 189,000 copies sold and streamed this week, the album’s success gives the Canadian lyricist the longest run at No. 1 for a man since 2012 as Adele‘s ‘25‘ enjoys its 24th nonconsecutive week in the Top 10.

If I’m not mistaken 1500 streams equals one unit sold.. So 1 billing divided by 1500 is equal to roughly 670 000 albums sold
670k from streaming alone. This is literally the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
Streaming has really messed it up as far as charting is concerned.
You’ll have people like Jason Derulo going diamond now with albums based off of their mainstream pop songs packaged in their albums. So stupid.
And then y’all compare the likes of Rihanna’s number ones with Mariah Carey

I think nearly 10 million in this day and age is very good. Name an album besides adele to have sold 10 million plus in the past 10 years? There’s not many.
People acted the same when digital sales and iTunes came to prominence over physical albums. Remember? Streams are killing off sales, they’re the future. At some point, stans will accept them like they did digital sales.
This is insane. Congrats to him. I don’t really care for streaming but at least this clearly shows people are interested in listening to his material. His pure sales are great too with 1 million+. Drake is just all around slaying for sure.

Lol but physical sales in terms of albums still outpace digital sales. Streaming is whack. As long as artists go gold/platinum/multi platinum through pure sales it will always be. Flops hold onto this streaming thing because their favorite artist can’t say. Meanwhile, Beyonce’s pure sales are doing great. Who tf gets hyped over streams? Lol Idc what anyone says if an artist sales 300k in pure sales and another artist sales 150k in pure sales but 400k with this streaming crap then the pure sales should certainly be #1. GTFOH. With streams that add singles & album streams. It’s bogus. Streaming isn’t really eating too much away from albums depending on the artist.
Also, Drake always sales between 1 to 2 million albums with each project. So is this really impressive? Streaming is free unless you got a prescription lol..
