I’m 2 songs in & I’m loving it !!! Classic Tinashe . Can’t wait to hear what Joyride sounds like. & I hope people don’t sleep on night side it’s sounding good

I said the same. Her aesthetic really shines in this set. The moody, timelapse, airy feel with a drop of urban is her lane. I love it. Tinashe girl you did that.

People are hating, but this is honestly very cohesive. For one, these are many of Tinashe’s creative and experimental songs that RCA mostly did not want on Joyride. These are songs that Tinashe herself obviously loves and although branded as a “prelude” to Joyride, this also works as a gift to us fans who know that Joyride will mostly be mainstream sounding due to RCA’s pressure to make their R&B artists pop stars. So people need to make up their minds. When she does traditional T, people say, “The music is great, but she needs more radio-friendly material because this won’t sell and she won’t secure a spot for herself.” And then when she goes radio-friendly to put herself out there, the same people claim, “This is just not artistic, this is forced, she doesn’t seem into it, etc.” It’s bs. This is mixtape Tinashe with a better budget and maybe if you haters would actually support it and buy it, RCA wouldn’t be trying to turn her into something else and her authentic sound would catch on. You can’t expect a multi-talented R&B artist to catch on overnight if you’re just gonna go back and forth between whether you want her to be her or a contemporary Britney.

I agree with your entire perspective! Tinashe is her OWN artist. She’s doing what she wants creatively. Some of her critics NEED to do their research on her. Tinashe has releases records such as this ever since her mixtape days! This is what I expect from “Joyride”. I understand she needs to cater to the general public BUT Tinashe needs to incorporate records from “Nightride” onto her “Joyride” album because she will be able to cater to a variety of audiences. Tinashe is going to SLAY us because of her authenticity and I will always hold it down for her! #TeamTinashe

  2. Hmmm… November 3, 2016

Tinashe’s songs usually grow on me (except Player and Superlove, those were trash), but this will probably grow on me after more listens. I’ve heard the whole album and every song is pretty much the same, it’s tiring. Idk. So far, Sacrifices is the best for me, but I’ll listen to it again.

    • Jasmine November 4, 2016

But it’s a free mixtape. I never judge that critically on free mixtapes. It’s meant to hype interest not be analyzed like an album.

      • Hmmm… November 4, 2016

That’s not critical. And it’s not free. I’m not doing a track by track review, criticizing the lyrics and production and whatnot. I just said every song sounds the same.

  3. Wonder Woman November 3, 2016

She’s a Flop flop flop, but she keeps on trying and that’s what I like about her, she’s kinda like the female Ciara
    .
I’m definitely gonna check this out when I have time and am back on campus when I have free wi-fi….., her mixtapes and a few songs from Aquarius slayZ

    • Shady J November 3, 2016

DONT U DARE COMPARE CIARA TO TINASHE CIARA HAS HAD WAY MORE SUCCESS THAN TINASHE ENTIRE CAREER CIARA MAY HAVE HAD A FEW FLOP ALBUMS BUT MAINSTREAM CIARA HAS WAY MORE SUCCESS THAN HER.

      • 4everBrandy_Ci November 4, 2016

Ciara and Tinashe are the definition of slayage. Y’all always want to compare and tear them down instead of appreciating their artistry.

    • 4everBrandy_Ci November 4, 2016

Don’t ever compare Ciara and Tinashe to each other because they’re BOTH the definition of slayage.

    • DissGurl November 4, 2016

The shade of the FEMALE Ciara!!! That was throwing mothafucking gasoline.

    • Jasmine November 4, 2016

How is Tinashi a flop? She is a new artist that has not found her sound yet. Her first album got her fans and now she is on the hunt for a new sound so she can put out her second album. It is never fair to compare a new artist to a seasoned artist with a decade of music and celebrity under her belt.

      • Sandra November 4, 2016

She was in a group, released 3 mixtapes before her debut album and has just released this and you’re saying that she’s a new artist and hasn’t found her style.
if she’s not found it by now she never will.

  4. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy November 3, 2016

Tin Tin!!!!! This was a great move. Can’t wait to get my blunt this weekend and listen to it from start to finish

  5. Rihboy November 3, 2016

One big song like franks flop ! I’m pissed! Aquarius was amazing! What is this! ?

    • Hmmm… November 3, 2016

Right. It’s one long ass song.

    • RihNavy November 3, 2016

You stan Rih sis. We don’t expect you to get it.

    • Rihboyw November 4, 2016

What is there to get. Ki! Trying for the solange neo soul but failed. Crappy interludes and lullabies.?

  6. RihNavy November 3, 2016

An ALBUM. I love how consistently cohesive she is with HER SOUND. That’s why we’re all always rooting for and sticking by HA! I’m already on ‘Sunburn’ and it’s lit.

  7. LB November 3, 2016

    THIS IS AMAZING!!!

    • applejuice November 4, 2016

Keke Palmer’s EP “Lauren” dropped today as well! 🙂

  11. Um. November 3, 2016

It’s alright. Nothing I haven’t heard before. People will eat it up though.

  12. Ronnie November 3, 2016

Very smart move on her part if Joyride is still on the table this is a great way to keep people’s interest.

  13. #Nicole Nation November 3, 2016

    I ain’t buying it. I’m a fake fan.

  14. LB November 3, 2016

Still waiting for R-AP-UP to post about Alicia Keys?

  15. ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? November 4, 2016

I used to hate “Party Favors” but now I love it. Still shouldn’t have been a single, though.

  16. 4everBrandy_Ci November 4, 2016

Tinashe SLAYED again!!!!!! Seriously “Nightride” is a prequel to “Joyride” and I’m here for it!!!! No matter what these bird chirping haters say about Tinashe I will always know she’s going to thrive! I need for people to appreciate her artistry because she’s on her way to greatness! Tinashe you better continue to SLAY us all!!!! #TeamTinashe

  17. A&R November 4, 2016

Ok, so here’s the thing… I gave the whole album a listen. As I’ve always said… her sound is a relative of the Anti album. Beside Party Favors, Company, and Ride of Your Life, the only other songs that stand or are Touch Pass (single worthy) Lucid Dream and Ghetto Boy.

With the songs combined she have a half of any album. Some one might kill me for this but I think Superlove could live on an album with these songs. Tin and her team need to build upon the sound and direction of songs like Company and Touch Pass. Both are authentically dark, edgy, and fun enough to fit with Tin’s persona. This new lpnis an ok attempted but doesn’t make me want buy her next album

    • Jasmine November 4, 2016

I think she should scrap the Joyride album and go with another direction. If your singles keep failing it usually mean the direction is off. I’m not saying do a repeat of her first album but perhaps keep that sound and mix in some of the dark and edgy material you are talking about.

  18. Danzou November 4, 2016

Classic. That’s the beauty of having your own lane.

  19. Anna November 4, 2016

    Full of certified BOPS!

  20. YoursTruly November 4, 2016

She snapped but I’m not surprised 🙂 a QUEEN.

  21. Indie November 4, 2016

Absolutely brilliant! This is Tinahse’s classic sound 2016 it\s so moody and s***

    • Indie November 4, 2016

This was a compliment by the way the last word was not a diss the album is HOT!!!

  22. eurotrashboy80 November 4, 2016

Love it form first listen!Tinashe always make great low fi tunes with her style, the influence of Janet is everywhere and thats so good!

  23. TurkeyNoodleSavage November 4, 2016

” Lucid Dreaming ” is such a damn BOP !
The industry and general public would appreciate her more if she would just stay true to herself .

This is giving me the Tinashe I know and love .

  24. MUSICHEAD November 4, 2016

If she had better producers her music would be so much better. Her songs lack musical melody. It’s basically just her voice against a beat drum and random sounds. She needs a good vocal producer to show her where to add harmonies to strengthen her voice. I see the potential but this ep sounds like another rookie effort.

    • BCinKS November 4, 2016

In my opinion, you are exactly right. These songs don’t have melodies. Songs like Company are basically on the same note the entire song. She’s like Keyshia Cole. Good lyricist, but she needs somebody else to take her words and craft the song.

      • #Nicole Nation November 4, 2016

Keyshia makes good songs and has good melodies.

BTW company was produced by The-Dream, not Tinashe herself.

        Probably his laziest production yet.

    • A&R November 4, 2016

Very good point. Oddly you can hear songs where she has good prodution and where she doesnt. Thx for this thought. Note taken.

  25. Black power November 4, 2016

    Sacrifices & Touch Pass >>>>>>>>>>>>>

  26. January_Joy November 4, 2016

Just 1 song in, and I’m grooving. Tinashe fans (like myself) will be happy about this I’m sure, it’s a good treat while waiting for the album. For those mourning her mixtape days, I think they won’t be disappointed. Can’t speak for myself; I like everything she does!

  27. Lake Erie November 4, 2016

She did her thing on this project! “PLAYER and Superlove” had me nervous at first but I’m so glad she’s staying true to her roots. I’m definitely interested in Joyride now. BUT THIS is an ear full enough for me.

  28. leveinard November 4, 2016

    I liked “Sacrifices.”

  29. Commentator 2 November 4, 2016

Some of her best material yet. Thanks for the music. ???

  30. David November 4, 2016

Hot !!! More of this Tinashe !

  31. #Nicole Nation November 4, 2016

This is for the fans, but I bet the album will be a more pop album like a rihanna project, with songs like superlove and player. This is just to keep her fans happy probably.
