Christina Aguilera is returning to the stage and it’ll be at the 2017 AMAs.
Details on her hotly anticipated showing below…
Moments ago on social media, Xtina confirmed that she’ll be performing at the American Music Awards on November 19th.
The vocal wonder will deliver a tribute performance to her idol Whitney Houston in salute of the 25th anniversary of ‘The Bodyguard’ movie and soundtrack. It’ll reportedly be a medley.
Aguilera says in a statement that the late legend was an idol and says her kindness to her as she was coming up in the business “will forever be cherished.”
Houston’s estate says the singer thought Aguilera was “one of the best voices she enjoyed in this generation of music.”
The news comes as fans anticipate the release of new material from the Aguilera and a year after she honored Houston with a hologram performance (that was sadly pulled before airing, although it’s viewable online if you search it out).
Nonetheless, we’re more than sure she’ll blow the roof off of the AMAs.
Fingers crossed the showing serves as a precursor to the roll-out of her own music.

I can’t wait to watch this, I’m sure she will be amazing. Glad they picked someone that Whitney liked, I remember she really liked Christina’s rendition of ‘Run to You’.

Wow honoring Diana Ross and Whitney’s Bodyguard soundtrack, they really tryna make me watch this. Would’ve been better if they had done like the Grammys did for Aretha and had multiple females from different genres to do the tribute though.

I don´t believe that for a second. The Bodyguard has even sold more MILLIONS of copies when Whitney died (a million in the USa alone I believe). It´s just impossible. You only can believe the propaganda that is believable. The Bodyguard sold more copies than Come on Over in the USA. It´s absolutely impossible that it sold more worldwide. There are countries like Spain where Shania has NEVER achieved such tremendous success as Michael, Whitney, Celine and those phenomenons. It´s impossible. It´s like when Celine or Mariah´s promo machines say they are the best selling female artists of all time. Well, we know it is Madonna. Nothing wrong with it because all of them are huge. But seriously.
Alright Christina, I’ma need you to channel your “Back to Basics” vocals and let the spirit of Whitney Houston work through you. I know you can do it and I know you will because these are Whitney’s songs you’re doing, so the pressure is on. So I know you’re doing you’re homework and slay. We all know you can sing, you don’t have to prove anything just focus on doing right by Whitney.
