New Video: Justin Timberlake – ‘Supplies’

Published: Thursday 18th Jan 2018 by Sam

Justin Timberlake has served up ‘Supplies’ – the latest taste of new album ‘Man Of The Woods’ (due Feb 2nd).

Much like predecessor ‘Filthy,’ the track (which was produced by Pharrell Williams) arrived with its video.

Directed by Dave Meyers, the visual awaits below…

Errm.

While more melodically digestable than ‘Filthy,’ is this really the heat JT is supposedly bringing this go round?

This sounds like a B-side on ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ and the chorus with its “suppl-iiii-iies” is the definition of jarring.

On the up side, the video is solid.

Look out for Justin when he headlines the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 4th. A platform that’s increasingly looking like his best bet at igniting some buzz about this album. Because thus far the music alone isn’t doing the job (as much as it should).

Your thoughts?

This is the opening of Janet’s sotwt. With another Janet director what is this crap copying Janet and using her to drum up views for his sb he w privileged

  2. Meme January 18, 2018

Lmfao what a joke. It looks like a ole man trying to be hip and cool again. I’m sorry justina ain’t about that life. Running back to hip hop artist/sound isn’t going to save you this time.

Also Dave meyers visuals doesn’t work for every artist. It was a complete fail all around. His name seem to be doing all big name as if that will make this era bullet proof, instead of coming up with a cohesive sound and visuals. Everything from the Music, to the art work and visuals are all over the place. He is truly lost as an artist. Bye felisha

You have too much time on your hands! Get a job!

      • Meme January 18, 2018

My job is related to pop cultural. Just gathered my docks to prepare my taxes. Clocked in right under 80k for 2017. How much did you made last year bish?

    • RealNegro January 18, 2018

80K my a**! You spend too much time on here. Lies.

      • Meme January 18, 2018

You don’t even know what I do lol. I’m on the computer all day for my personal business so it’s easy for me to have a window up with the blogs. I actually made 100k the previous yr, so the 80k was disappointing. Y’all think I be on here talking out my asz. Lol

      • Fancy BISH January 18, 2018

Meme, don’t even give Doritos and Negro Spirituals the time of day lol ?

    • Yan January 18, 2018

I so agree meme. First he came up with those “This is my personal/roots album” crap that everybody is tired of, with those teasers and album cover looking like a country artist who got tired of cultural appropiation, then he releases futuristic videos (that don’t match the theme and visuals of the album AT ALL) where he looks like an old white nerd boy trying too hard to be cool over dated timbaland-ish beats. I mean, everything is OFF. He is missing the mark COMPLETELY.

At this point, his only hope is the Superbowl-platform to save those first week sales. He will be lucky if this era pull 1 million sales altogether.

      Get it together Justin.

  3. Jj January 18, 2018

    Awful wtf was that

  4. ??? January 18, 2018

    lmao bye gurl.

  5. S****** Blonde January 18, 2018

Everybody is mad at him, lol…He ain’t trying to please casual listeners, I told y’all he was done with his FutureSexLoveSounds persona, this is him, right now, I personally love everything he is doing musically since The 20/20 Experience, I love that record.

    • pat January 18, 2018

unfortunately unless he’s fully appropriating black music…he’s just not interesting.

    • ??? January 18, 2018

lmao gurl bye, your little white privilege poster girl is a FLOP dear, karma is dragging ha by the balls. deal with it lmfaoo

    • XYZ January 18, 2018

What are you talking? He is done with what? The two songs he released sound like futurebla rejects, not like something new and fresh. Just like songs that did not deserve to be on that great futureetc album.

    • Hmmm January 18, 2018

The only person mad is you…mad that we’re not here this nasal-voiced, washed-up, watered-down Bruno Mars wannabe.

    • Z January 18, 2018

I love this song and the first one too so I can’t wait to listen to the album. For the comments, don’t be so mad just because somebody doesn’t have the same taste as you little Hitlers. Now you can express yourself and show everyone how mad you are, we all like to be entertain by clowns <3

  6. Jj January 18, 2018

Clue he’s not dancing in these videos that’s missing

    • pat January 18, 2018

because he’d have to be milly rocking or doing mj moves…and he’s not ready for that dragging!

  7. Ocean January 18, 2018

He is trying so hard to be relevant to the younger fans …you can hear that mumble rap melody in the choroid … I bet he listens to lots of Migos

  8. XYZ January 18, 2018

Eew. Weird how all of these established artists with major success lose their ear for hits from one to the other album (as Katy did for example).

I liked his first 20/20 album, mirrors is still my jam. But this is horrible – I don’t want to hear this song again and actually cancelled my preorder.

I mean, seriously, what happened? He was so big with good tracks and albums, had one of the songs of the summer with his last single (2016?) and now he serves us this? With all that dumb noise in the background? No, bye

  9. Jason January 18, 2018

I’m getting “Witness” teas from this era…. JT, you in danger, girl! ?

    • Meme January 18, 2018

Same. This is his witness era.

    • Bad_B January 18, 2018

Lmfao theres a bad bug going around of late in hollywood. Nobody is safe!

    • Fancy BISH January 18, 2018

Yaaas for the Ghost quote lol ? I think this is his MDNA era…he should perform the big game with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj lol ?

  10. Latina chick January 18, 2018

The darkies cry and moan about anything and everything.

    • Hmmm January 18, 2018

Hey S******!!! Ignorance at its best. Comments like these don’t count.

      • S****** Blonde January 18, 2018

I’m stating to think that this @Latina Chick is one of you. Can TGJ please confirm that this person is not me?….I’m seriously asking this.

      • California January 18, 2018

Boy bye, it is you. You’re just using another device.

      • S****** Blonde January 18, 2018

Mmm could be either you or that other girl Jasmine, you two are insisting too much in this ?

      • Jasmine January 18, 2018

        S****** that “Latina chick” is you ugly racist f a g g o t.

      • California January 18, 2018

      • Strawberry. January 23, 2018

“DARKIES ??!!”..wow they aint used that ol’ racist expression in about a hundred years. Dag s****** blond latina chick donald trumpa… you must be older than i thought. #LMAO

  11. JOHNVIDAL January 18, 2018

I don´t understand how this relates (very 2007 sound of his) to the theme he first seemed to suggest with that awful title and album cover? Hell even 20/20 had some clear direction and strategy whether you liked the material or not. This is being messy, very Katy Perry like in her last era. Thnkfully for him he is one of the few media darlings so he won´t flop hard. But damn it. Others have been destroyed for way less 🙂

    • S****** Blonde January 18, 2018

Danja already said that the album is not country.

  12. RoyalKev January 18, 2018

This is awful! I don’t even want to compare this to Katy’s last era! Her music (singles and album tracks) are far better than this! ‘Chained to the Rhythm’, ‘Swish Swish’ and ‘Hey, Hey, Hey’ is way more listenable than this or ‘Filthy’! JT’s giving us a Chris Brown reject, Janet sotw tour visuals, inside of this wannabe unpredictable ‘BEYONCE’ – like era, while mixing in elements from 80’s legends (MJ, Prince & GM)! Where is he going with all of this?

    • Lake Erie January 18, 2018

I definitely don’t get whats coming from out of this woods by this man. 1st singles can be tricky but now with his second? Mmmmmmm…. nah… idk either.

  13. truth January 18, 2018

Song is hot. Justin is always very crafty with his music . Wonder what the video means. The album will be FIYAH

  14. Fancy BISH January 18, 2018

This song wack as hell lol *Plays Finesse 10 times in a row because it has a REAL melody, a REAL groove, no awkward lyrics and no try hard vibes* ??

  15. Haters Gon’ Hate January 18, 2018

WOW. It’s so bad. Total lack of musical direction and the music is so poor. He just comes across as trying to come across cool for the kids and no amount to A+ Director is going to save his mess of an album roll out. And – he’s aging so badly – he just looks like an angry old man trying to shuffle to confused mess of production. So sad and mediocre.

    • Fancy BISH January 18, 2018

You just got a ? on your reading of Miss Justinesha lol ✅

  16. Jamie January 18, 2018

Please…Somehow I feel Blurred Lines was supposed to be for Justin.

  17. Lake Erie January 18, 2018

    suppl-iiii-iies smh…. Lol!

    • Fancy BISH January 18, 2018

      lmao ?

    • RoyalKev January 18, 2018

      Absolutely horrid! LOL

  18. Z January 18, 2018

I love it, nice surprise from the song to the video.

  19. Bruno Mars January 18, 2018

I doubt Justin will flop like my 24K Magic album. 710,000 sold and some equivalent mess to make it go platinum.

  20. Keegan A Parker January 18, 2018

I am mad JUSTIN nooo this is foolish look Gwen(queen of pop ska)learned her lesson because it worked 10 years ago don’t mean it works now…new producers tweak the sound this is bad

  21. Aj January 18, 2018

Sounds like a Tinashe b-side and that isn’t a good thing

  22. Francis January 18, 2018

Damn, I hope the rest of the album delivers, because I’m really disappointed at the two tracks he released, both of them sound like ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ rejects. I thought he moved forward with the ’20/20 Experience’, but seems like he was wrong.

‘Filthy’ is flopping and releasing another song won’t help. He better start promoting, because the Superbowl won’t help him on the Hot 100.

  23. Stacey January 18, 2018

Some of you sound as if his songs don’t keep rising on Itunes. He obviously is successful and you guys have no say so whatsoever in his success this time around. I love Justin Timberlake!

  24. eric January 18, 2018

I loooooove the bridge!!! Everything else is shockingly embarrassing. The vocals are nasally to the extreme and I don’t see anything but a lot of posing in this video. He needs Pharrell to stand at his side to try to sell the image and it still doesn’t work. Go away Justin, you and your imaginary apologies to Janet.

  25. Justin January 18, 2018

Filthy and Supplies will be Top 10 hits at the same time. Bow Down b******.

  26. s.a January 18, 2018

The 2 songs he released doesn’t go with visuals of the album. Supplies looks weird from music to the video, The Weekend wanna be.

    • Fancy BISH January 19, 2018

      lol yaaaaaaas ?

  27. Sweetnothings@78 January 19, 2018

Take it by all the moaning comments he’s not delivered with this song (I agree).
Filthy was good. Let’s wait and see what he delivers moving forward. As we ALL know he will sell no matter what.

  28. Truth January 19, 2018

    @s.a

The Weeknd don’t sell s*** compared JT. He can bow down too.

    • s.a January 21, 2018

I was talking about JT following The Weeknd. Just like JT did Can’t stop the feeling with Max Martin the same producer who delivered Can’t feel my face with The Weeknd. Supplies also sound a lot like The Weeknd track.
