Soulful crooner Maxwell made his return to the music landscape this month with new song ‘We Never Saw It Coming.’
The track debuted as part of short film ‘The Glass House,’ which premiered exclusively on TIDAL.
With said window of exclusivity now lapsed, the singer has made the visual (directed by Bush + Renz) available to all.
Issued as the first taste of new album ‘NIGHT’ (the concluding part of his ‘BLACKsummers’night‘ trilogy), the visual awaits below…
Echoing earlier sentiments, the song doesn’t amount to much and, despite sounding like a “Maxwell” track from a production standpoint, lyrically and melodically it lacks.
That said, the visual made for a compelling watch. We just wish it was synced to a better song.
Fingers crossed that’s he’s coming with more resonating material. Because if he can do that while continuing to deliver on this scale with follow-up videos, then we’ll be in for a treat.
