Nicki Minaj Exclusive: iHeartRadio To Underpin ‘Queen’s Radio Presence

Published: Friday 10th Aug 2018 by David

With over 850 stations in the United States, iHeartMedia’s iHeartRadio impact on Pop culture remains impenetrable.

Now, after turning thousands of so-so selling cuts into global smash hits, the platform is to underpin Nicki Minaj’s campaign for ‘Queen’ and the material she has recorded to support it.

An exclusive report below…

Unlike its hit-fuelled predecessors, this Nicki Minaj set has been driven by slow-burning singles which, though missed out topping the Billboard Hot 100, have sold and streamed enough copies each to week secure Gold & Platinum plaques for themselves.

Today, TGJ can exclusively reveal that iHeart will support the rest of the album’s campaign by backing the singles the rapper will dispatch to back the project commercially.

The next? A herculean cut (co-produced by a fresh and rising British creative) that will be serviced to Top 40 and Rhythmic stations within the next few weeks with help from some of the rapper’s chart-blazing pals.

iHeart’s motivation for supporting the material? Its veneration for its sound.

You sound dumb comparing a new artist to an old one! The same way you thought Cardi wasn’t going to gr that 2nd number 1 because of xxxtentacion’s death and video and she proved your lame a$$ wrong! Then you went ghost ?. Miss me with that punk!

      • Caleb August 10, 2018

At the rate things are going I doubt it.

First of all, this actually worked in her favor because it created publicity for her project. Also, Atlantic has been working around the clock to sabotage Nicki Minaj, and likely had something in store for her release date. Secondly, you guys been saying that Cardi B is the queen of rap, acting like that title can be so easily gotten. You basically took away Nicki Minaj’s 10 years of accomplishments and said that it means nothing. Now, you have the nerve to call us dumb for comparing Cardi B to Nicki when you been doing it all along.

I thought it was because the album leaked AND critics aren’t impressed. Reaks of desperation. The gimmicks are boring now. She is and always has been more interesting when she’s featured on other people’s records.

Which critics? Please point them out to me.

    • Beam Me Up Scotty August 10, 2018

Exactly, which critics? Which reviews? No one has heard the album. She released an album after 4 years and you say that’s desperation? You honestly don’t like her or someone is paying you to post s*** about her. Move on. Get off her areola.

Cancel-Li. Smh, this has got to be the messiest campaign roll out since Anti. Rihanna Anti campaign was messy largely because of Jay Z interference with Tidal and Samsung. Nicki issue is she lack direction, her music is all over the place, she’s scared to flop and she’s trying to compete with Cardi.

Nicki needs to realize her peak is done. Her time whining down. Instead of chasing hits, so what other vets are doing. Just release the music.

You are a flip flopping whack b****. Now you’ve jumped on the h******** B bandwagon because she got two No.1’s? But then what did I expect from a Rihanna stan, always stanning for the charts instead of music smh. Nicki never needed a flip flopping h** fan like you.

“First they love you then they switch. They switch like f******.”

    • RihNaj August 10, 2018

Meme shut ur face please! Ur so bi polar about nicki…stay in ur lane please if u ain’t got anything nice to say don’t say it. Cause I know u gon be like “ oh I actually do like this album” with ur bi polar self. Girl bye. No one is perfect let nicki do her thing.

The ‘Queen’ album campaign makes the ‘Anti’ album campaign look top-Knotch by comparison.

    • Beam Me Up Scotty August 10, 2018

This campaign has been of publicity. I can tell you now this has been the goal from the very beginning. Even when she went away on hiatus people would not stop talking about her. People been waiting 4 years for music from her. Every song that she has released this year has either gone gold or platinum. You know what that means? People are still buying and listening to her music. People in other genres, who can actually sing, don’t even see some of the numbers she’s getting. This woman is not just a rapper, she is damn icon. And you do nothing but disrespect her. Give the woman credit.

Lmaooooo!!!! Wow, the comment section is LIT today! #Facts!

    .
But tbh. … no matter what anyone says, the comparison is going to happen. Bloggers, radio host, music critics, hell probably even Wendy Williams is going to compare Cardi & Nicki across the boards. And I’m here for it! It’s good for hip hop. Probably will be the highlight of Summer 18 besides the Drake revelation in which barley grazed him.. . I’m excited.
