Hot Shot: Monica Brings ‘New Life’ To Locks

Nothing better to accompany a new cd, aptly titled ‘New Life’, than a new ‘do. Such was clearly the forethought of ‘For You I Will’ wailer Monica. Moments ago the multiplatinum diva gifted fans with a sneak peek of her new look, courtesy of famed hairstylist Kim Kimble.

The shot surfaces days before the singer rejoins fellow R&B belle Brandy for a live performance of their new cut ‘It All Belongs To Me’ at Clive Davis’ annual ‘Pre-Grammy Gala’. The performance will come as the first time the two have joined forces on stage in almost 4 years.

The music world was definitely turned upside down yesterday with the introduction of ‘It All Belongs To Me’ – the R&B reunion of belters Brandy and Monica. Already hitting a homerun with fans and critics alike, the ‘Boy Is Mine’ successor’s success is already being ensured by promotional appearances being confirmed almost daily.

Following last week’s announcement that the two will hit the ‘Leno’ stage in support of the single, news has now surfaced the diva duo will perform together at the Clive Davis-hosted Pre-Grammy Gala in Beverly Hills this weekend!

Brandy & Monica Line Up ‘Leno’ For First Performance Of New Single?

‘The Boy Is Mine’ co-stars Brandy & Monica have fans in a frenzy in anticipation of ‘It All Belongs To Me’ – the Rico Love produced reunion of the R&B veterans. Unveiled nearly 14 years after their monster hit ‘Boy’, the songstresses will see the number (radio release – February 13th, Itunes – February 14th) appear on both of their albums due early this year.

To ensure the long awaited single gets maximum treatment, labels are already lining up promotional appearances. The first, according to sources, will be a stop at ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ on February 16th. And, with famed director Chris Robinson behind the wheel of the song’s accompany visual,its safe to say the ladies are preparing to pull out all the stops on every end.

Set for inclusion on Mo’s ‘New Life’ (April 3rd) and an alternate version on Brandy’s yet-titled next release, fans will get to double their pleasure with two of R&B’s most respected vocalists. Needless to say, we cannot wait!

Monica’s ‘New Life’ Gets New Release Date

Monica‘s last studio outing, ‘Still Standing’ served as a comeback of sorts, whetting appetites ten-fold for its follow-up.

It’s no surprise, then, that anticipation for the LP, christened ‘New Life’, has been intense. Especially after its lead single ‘It All Belongs To Me (ft. Brandy)’ was announced.

And while fans have been anticipating the previously confirmed March release, the singer’s new delivery has been assigned a new arrival date.

‘Everything To Me’ maestra Monica moved Atlanta this weekend with rocking performances of hits ‘Don’t Take It Personal’, ‘Anything (To Find You)’, and more as she headlined Honda’s ‘Battle of the Bands’. Readying for a battle of her own on Billboard charts in spring, the 31-year-old reportedly took to Twitter to confirm her forthcoming ‘New Life’ album is complete and awaiting label approval.

And, as fans are more anxious than ever to get their fill of ‘It All Belongs To Me’ – her highly anticipated duet with fellow R&B vet Brandy, they can first get a good look at her bringing down the house at the Honda Battle of the Bands below:

Hot Shots: Monica & Brandy Beam In Studio Pic, Spark Duet Rumors

‘The Boy Is Mine’ co-stars Monica and Brandy beam in this collection of personal snapshots uploaded to the ‘Don’t Take It Personal’ singer’s Twitter moments ago. Sending fans into a frenzy, the two spark rumors that their 1998 mega-duet may be getting a successor soon.

Mo, who joined super producer Rico Love in Miami to record the finishing touches for her ‘New Life’ album (due in February), shared a touching thought with the photo:

“We’ve been blessed beyond measure…14 years later. ##TURNTHELIGHTSON ❤Love”.

Have long time fans’ cries been heard? We’ll certainly be keeping our fingers crossed on that one. The timing, if the collab rings true, couldn’t be any better given that Brandy is preparing new material for 2012 as well! This will play out interestingly to say the least. Must See: Monica Bares All For ‘New Music’

With the due date for Monica‘s ‘New Life‘ LP getting closer, the performer has begun the promotional rounds for the project which all involved are hoping fares much better than her last release.

After making a guest appearance at The Wendy Williams Show and performing on ‘A Very BET Christmas‘, the songbird has now given an in depth interview on the album which we are sure will go down a treat with her ever loyal fan base.
