It seems that for every Kim Burrell critic calling for her to be blacklisted there is a supporter armed and ready to defend her.

Ellen’s move was lauded by those who argued Burrell’s remarks were hateful, hurtful and divisive.
However, rising from the shadows are those who believe that Burrell is being unfairly punished.

Okay, I completely agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion and to openly exercise their ‘freedom of speech’ HOWEVER, this woman (who calls herself Christian) is blatantly being abusive in a derogatory and inflammatory way. We all have opinions and do not agree with certain things but to openly abuse sectors of the community (especially when you hold a position of influence) is a disgrace and down right stupid.

I entirely agree with Kim and we will be the voice of God in this world. Christians, don’t fall back, don’t hide, wake up!…we are the salt and the light of the world. Stand up…stand out and speak up! Do not be ashamed of that which saved you. We ought to be radical enough to believe that there is really nothing to lose, because our eyes are set on the things above, and not below and Jesus is everything. Get down on your knees and ask God for strength to stand and for His guidance in all situations…and then rise up in His power. Walk with Him…I assure you, even if the world takes everything away from you, your reward is sure… and the day of vindication will come and the world will see that our God is righteous and His name shall be glorified and many shall be saved because of your testimony. These people clearly don’t understand freedom of speech. Freedom of speech in this context means that Kim Burrell cannot be imprisoned for publicly expressing her beliefs. She has not been jailed over this. She was barred from performing on a talk show and a radio station dropped her. Both Ellen Degeneres and the radio station were well within their rights to respond as they did. Burrell is still a free woman free to put her foot back in her mouth any time she chooses. Relax.
