TBS has struck gold with its breakout comedy series, ‘The Last O.G.’

As we reported here, the Tiffany Haddish and Tracy Morgan-led show – which premiered on April 3rd – delivered the network its highest ratings for an original series debut and, weeks after its impressive launch, has remained fairly consistent with its viewership draws.

The result?  TBS is already ordering its sophomore season.  Details inside:

Report:

“The Last O.G.” is getting a second season and stars Tracy Morgan as former felon Tray Barker, who returns to his Brooklynn neighborhood after 15 years to find it gentrified. Tiffany Haddish also stars with Allen Maldonado, Ryan Gaul, and Cedric the Entertainer. Morgan executive produces with Jordan Peele for Monkeypaw Productions, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, Saladin Patterson and Joel Zadak of Principato Young.

Taking to press, Brett Weitz (executive vice president of programming for TBS) stated:

“We couldn’t be prouder of these two comedies [‘Search Party’ & ‘The Last O.G.’] and that they’ve been recognized by critics and audiences alike for their uniquely hilarious points of view in a very crowded field.”
