As That Grape Juice extends a hearty ‘Happy Memorial Day’ to our U.S. readers, we’re also seeing our social media feeds lined with homages to fallen soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for freedoms we enjoy today on both sides of the pond.

One such homage came in the form of a rousing rendition of the U.S. national anthem from ‘I Bet’ beauty Ciara. And, after one listen of songstress’s take on the tune, we bet that you’ll be as pleasantly surprised as we were.

April 25th saw many boast Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea‘s tag team project ‘Pretty Girls’ as the year’s most anxiously awaited release.  Conversely, May 25th is singing a very different tune.

After an impressive #29 debut last week (based on sales alone) ahead of their futuristic music video and highly anticipated Billboard Music Awards performance, fans were sure the inclusion of streaming points and response to the live showing would boost Brit’s latest effort up a few spots on the Hot 100.

They were wrong.

In her defense, she’s in good company.  Joining ‘S&M’ collaborator Rihanna‘s downward dive on the tally, the ladies’ not-so-hot showings on the Hot 100 continue as males – for a change – extend their domination of the charts for yet another week.

Nicki Minaj and David Guetta have seen their new single ‘Hey Mama’ rise seven spots on the UK’s Official Singles Chart this week, soaring to #10 after spending last week at #17.

The number appears on Guetta’s new album ‘Listen’ and was supported by a live performance put on by the pair at the Billboard Music Awards.

The single’s success occurs as Minaj’s new singles ‘Feeling Myself’ and ‘The Night Is Still Young’ push their parent album ‘The Pinkprint’ closer to the 1 million units sold milestone in the United States.

Elsewhere, Fetty Wap’s ‘Trap Queen’ rises eight places to claim the #21 spot as the aforementioned ‘Feeling’ debuts at #64 following the release of its Beyonce-backed music video.

‘Break Every Chain’ beauty Tasha Cobbs saw her debut effort break chains, break records, and break new ground in gospel music.  Launched from the album ‘Grace,’ the song – alongside its follow-up ‘For Your Glory’ – is still enjoying major success on the Billboard Gospel Album and Singles charts respectively.
