Janet In Miami Recording New Album

Published: Monday 18th Jun 2007 by Sam
According to the Miami Herald, Pop superstar Janet Jackson is in Miami recording a new album. The ‘All for You’ singer has booked 3 months of recording time at Circle House Studios. Interestingly, Def Jam head LA Reid has accompanied Jackson on the trip. Though boyfriend Jermaine Dupri has yet to been seen with them, he is slated to produce on the project.
It’s great that Janet is already recording the follow-up to ’20 Y.O’. I’m guessing LA Reid’s presence confirms the speculation that she has signed with Def Jam. As one of the few that enjoyed Jermaine’s contribution to her last CD, I’m glad that they’re collaborating again; though, it may be in her best interest to keep his presence on the CD to a minimum. This new album really will be ‘make or break’ for Janet – whose career has been struggling since the Superbowl incident a few years back. I’m hopeful she’ll make a spectacular comeback. If Def Jam put as much money/promo into the project – as they did for Mariah’s last CD and Rihanna currently – then I’m sure Janet will do great.

Are you anticipating Janet’s new CD?

I’m hoping Janet does make that comeback! She and her team just needs to make the right decisions and with L.A. Reid on board things are looking in the right direction.

No Virgin records did not contribute any money to 20 YO. They spent a couple of thousands on the project, trust me I know from personal experience. Janet will be back and will set it off!!

OMG. LAWD CHILE. Please let it be so. We need some JJ hits, and yes, keep JD’s part to a mini…Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis need to wipe the cobwebs out and come on with it. ‘Cause we all know between the three of them their BEST work has been together..Janet, Jimmy, and Terry (the stepchild) LOL.

    Goooo Janet.

Janet is the baddest chick in the game. All the female artist wish they had the swagger that Janet has. All she needs is the right promotion behind her and she will be back on top.

This is awesome news for Janet fans everywhere. I am glad to hear she will be working on a new project. Damita Jo was good and so was 20 YO but I really hope Janet goes for a different approach, similar to that of All For You. That album was very up-lifting, happy and upbeat. I think she should go for more of a dance/pop sound and release a catchy upbeat song as the first single. Something that will make u wanna DANCE! No matter what she does I am certain Janet will make a definite COMEBACK!

Can’t wait. 20YO was great, but still not the best Janet cd, way better than Damito Jo though. Do hope Jimmy and Terry are with her, the 3 of them can do no wrong. Great to see LA Reid involved, and I agree, Jermaine Dupri needs to have little involvement, ‘cept supporting his girl. Don’t think her music since the Super Bowl incident has been due to lack of support of marketing….just can’t get ANY radio stations to play her music. And if they do it’s only the 80’s-90’s Janet :-(. The girl is the diva of all divas and can wipe the floor with bimbos like Britney.

21 or 20 whateva age she trying to be. She needs to revamp her focus. 20YO was a great album but as it said earlier no one cared. Janet has had some great runs and as long as she share her “talent” and not be boxed a commidified and looking for numbers she will be fine. But until then she will be at war with every entertainment bureaucratic entity.
