Kanye West Talks ‘September 11th’ Battle With 50 Cent

Published: Sunday 19th Aug 2007 by Sam

Kanye West recently appeared on The Friday Night Project – a comedy show back home in the UK (yes, I’m still here in LA – loving it I must add). He addressed his forthcoming chart battle with 50 Cent on September 11th. It’s so funny watching the different approaches both he and 50 are taking; 50 is talking like he’s still ‘the sh*t’, yet Kanye is using sarcastic modesty to basically say what most are hoping for – that he’ll win. I think it’ll be a close call…

What do you think of Kanye’s comments?

I never cared too much for 50 or Kanye but as far as the music goes Kanye is a better artist…..he is very talented and he didn’t start this whole battle thing 50 did….50 uses controversy to sell records Kanye uses his talent…I think people are sick of 50’s b******* so Kanye will definitely have higher first week sales…hell I might even buy the album lol

    Go Kanye!!!!!!!!!!!

Fiddy get’s on my last nerve the ignorant ass mofo, he’s been around for a minute and he thinks he’s the king, check yourself Gorilla you ain’t got s*** on Ludacris, Snoop, Chamillionaire, Nas, TI oh the list could go on, I like Kanye and fiddy saying he’ll retire means he thinks it’s an insult for Kanye to beat him, I hope he does, but it betcha that 5 cent won’t go nowhere

I’ve got Kanye’s albums but i’ve never been to bothered about fiddy ain’t really liked him since PIMP and Candyshop all the singles i’ve heard so far suck, so be gone fiddy I won’t miss you

Agree with both comments and I must add that Kanye was jokes in the interview,

Also why is it that 50 cent has to create beef everytime he’s got an album coming out, rely on your talent fool not the hype, i hope his album flops

I hope that Kanye comes out on top!!! I love him… as for 50 I havnt really liked any of his music since his first album.. but if you think about it the man is a genius I think he knew exactly what he was doing starting this whole battle thing with album sales going down as a whole he knw this would increase sales plus there were already rumors circulating that he would retire after this album cause he’s making so much money off that smart water he came up with.. but either way it goes their both gone get even richer so a what can ya say!?!

the only battle that will take place is who flops LESS. Both rappers are tired and predictable.

Kanye all the way…..50 has so many collabs it might as well be a Soundtrack for a movie. Truly un-original.

kanye is just as arrogant as 50 so i don’t get that excuse for hating on 50.

i guess you all are just mad that that man is filthy rich

personally, i think kanye is way more arrogant than 50. i mean, did ppl forget how he rushed onstage at the european mtv music awards when he didn’t win best video or whatever? that was so childish! i think he’s full of crap. ppl just hate 50 more, which is why they concentrate more on any negative characteristics he has. i’m a 50 fan, i enjoy his music, in the short time he’s been in the business, he has made a huge impact and maybe it makes ppl mad. americans seem to dispise him, but world wide, he is the biggest thing in rap music, he has alot of fans. europe, asia and africa. i’m from south africa and he is huge out here. alot of ppl love him and his music. sometimes it good just have music that’s upbeat, that u can dance to, then music from a “conscious rapper” that doesn’t sell. n ppl don’t get into music to send out messages, it’s for the money.
overall, 50 is the most popular and he has sold more records, so i think he has the upper hand…
ppl are rooting for kanye because they hate 50, not cause they like kanye’s music.

50 is such a douchebag..using jt and timbaland to get radio play. that song was gonna be cut from the album but after straight to the bank and amusement park flopped BIG TIME they had to jump on the bandwagon and use jt’s wack ass and over used timbaland.

All about Kanye. I appreciate how he is a voice for the people and that is all people. He has had some positive things to say about gay people because in case you didn’t know there are many out there, even in hip hop and r&b. 5o is only 1/2 of what Kanye is so his name is fitting, but he is the one that has started this fading mess. Kanye is the man with a dance and a message, 5o cent is loose change…

I never cared for either of them and both of them are arrogant but if we’re going on raw talent Kanye is definitely the better artist. yes 50’s singles are memorable but its not b/c of the lyrical content but because they are so catchy…P.I.M.P, Candy Shop, In Da club weren’t great as far as clever lyrics but they had catchy hooks and the beats were hot. 50 is a great businessman I give him that…he’s used controversy to sell his first 2 albums and it worked like a charm….this time though I hope it backfires and talent comes out on top
