New Song: Janet Jackson – ‘Feedback’

Published: Wednesday 12th Dec 2007 by Sam
It appears Janet Jackson and her new team over at Island Def Jam are not playing this time around. Seemingly out of nowhere, the 41 year old superstar’s new single ‘Feedback’ has surfaced. The Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins produced song is an uptempo dance track that sees Janet re-embrace her mainstream pop sound, whilst incorporating the urban feel that her last couple of albums featured. I’m really liking the track and feeling her swagger on the delivery of the verses. This has me anticipating her new as-yet untitled album, set to drop on February 26th, all the more. Word has it the video for the song is being shot this week! {Thanks all those who sent the track in}

i dun see whats the point..i mean, even if the song is hot, radios in the states have given up on janet a long time ago…her career is dead. she will never be what she was…

This track is middle of the road for me. Not sure if this will bring her back, I feel they could have given us something a little stronger.

In response to the 2nd post… the song leaked today, and Z100 already played the song 5-6 times today alone and is streaming the song its website.

Z100 is the largest radio station… so there goes your point right out the window.

btw- i love the song. its tight.

The song is tiresome… And the words are dumb as hell. And her repeating the word “shake” ten times in a row makes me sick figuratively. I still wonder why Aaliyah was her big fan. I would just want to know what is it that she liked about this random woman.

i hate to bring her name up but if CIARA put this song out i would be like ‘this is wack.’ therefore i can’t give janet props for something that is mediocre at best. however, if the video is on fire there’s a possiblity it could do well. if it’s that important that she has a hit record she should collab with some of the youngins that have a following…beyonce or ciara…and get momentum off of their hype and it’ll show no resentment. kind of like what madonna did with britney. i think it would be dope. but she can’t appear to be competing at her age. this music is not for a grown ass woman unless your collabarating with someone you inspire.

this should be a lesson to ci and bey that when you’re 40 you better have a plan B

    REAL TALK.

As someone in my mid-30’s (and if you ain’t there yet u ain’t got s*** to say) I love it that Janet is still doing her “s***” thing. You don’t dry up just because you hit a certain age, if you’re lucky you’ve only been getting better. Let me tell u that youth is WASTED on the young ’cause you really don’t know what to do with it and how to appreciate it until you’re older…You don’t truly get your swagger until you’re 30 anyway. The rest of the time you’re just pretending and trying figure it out…LOL

So I LOVE this track! I love the fact that Janet is 41! And come on, you know that video is going to rip it up!

It’s usually the haters that have no idea what they are talking about…

I love this Janet song, I have seen Janet on tour 3 times and have every single album. Though I may love some more then others I really respect her creative direction with this one. She’s 41… I don’t expect her to be singing sad love songs… she’s 41 and having a good time… Some people can’t grasp that. Haters want to dictate what she does because they have lost a sense of control in their own lives, so by dictating another persons lives it makes them feel better about their situation.

    EHHH……

  23. Anonymous December 14, 2007

OMG…This is Good! Better! and Best!

THANK YOU JANET and THANK YOU RODNEY!!

  24. Anonymous December 14, 2007

I’m sorry this song is HOT! I mean really Hot! I’m glad to see her back on top where she belongs, it has HIT written all over it. I’m not sure why some people are comparing Janet to Britney Spears? Janet has been in the game and cranking out hits since the 80’s, Britney isnt a pimple on Janet’s ass people! You can’t even compare the two people.

  25. OmegaPatty December 17, 2007

I don’t care what anyone thinks, or what her sales will be like… this track is a HIT in my heart and ears. It’s hot, gets your energy going and makes you dance, and not to mention, catchy! Janet just doesn’t quit!! Peace…
