What can I say other than, Janet is back! Let’s get the nitty gritty out the way first; the vid seemed a little too dark (which I’m hoping is due to the internet) and the special effects were a little hit and miss in places. Saying this, everything else was on-point – very on-point. Continuing the Jackson trend of being an innovator of the video form, Janet really stepped out of the box with this video’s concept and it really works. The choreography was great too – especially the dance break at the bridge and the part at the end. All in all, Janet brought her ‘A Game’ with this video – proving exactly why she should never be counted out. ‘Discipline’, Janet’s brand new album, hits stores February 26th.

OMG That was even hotter than I imagined, I can’t wait to see it in HQ on my iPod, the dance sections look hot and I loved the old school space movie theme, her outfit was fantastic. Janet blows every other musician today out of the water again with this video. JANET IS BACK!!

I knew, I knew, Janet is the originator of videos and Michael is to. I luv this video it goes very well with what is out today, it is very uk, europeon, i luv it, imma go look for me a red cat suit!! This video gets a 6 (out of 10). It’s q****, yet interesting. Unfortunately, (if I didn’t already love the song,) this video (wouldn’t/) doesn’t make me become more attached to the song. It’s good, but definitely not great.

Less is sometimes better! The over the top special effects is distracting from the dancing or lack there of. It is a hot dance song sooo why not dance.

I f****** love the video. I agree that there are certain parts that needed more dancing and that some of it reminds me of a little Busta Rhymes/ Britney Spears with the special effects, but damn. Come on now. She brought it. The moves were on point. She brought her A game. This is the most creative R&B/Pop video out there that doesn’t include ass shaking, bootty shorts, and all that mess. She catches your attention without all that. I’m loving it. Gone girl, Miss Janet.

OK, here listen. It might seem “slow to you” because Saam doesn’t do complicated camera moves. You notice that the camera BARELY moves in this video. That’s because – as I said before – moving cameras make moving backgrounds. The fewer things that are moving on the screen, the easier it is to compress the image, because there are fewer pixels to “change” so you don’t have as blurry of a shot. Second, the story. It’s not that hard. It’s Mario Galaxy meets Barbarella meets clash of Titans. Each of the Daft Punk androids rules one of the plants. Notice there are 9 people in the video. Counting Pluto, which I still do, how many planets are in our solar system? They are all climbing over their planets stalking each other. It’s a metaphor. Live with it.
Dancing = Battle.
They are fighting and Janet jumps down off of her planet into a place with a very viscous white fluid. Sure you can take the easy road to what it’s supposed to be, or just be more metaphorical and look at it as the soup in which the universe is formed. The breakdown is the final battle. They all fall in behind her, it’s about to go down.
Everyone’s planets start falling and crashing into the soup of life. Janet smashes (dances) until she breaks the last planet with her hand and all of the Daft Punk androids get sucked back into the soup of life. A new Janet is shot out of the soup – free of her constraints, free of her battle gear and begins to organize the spheres of light to her making – lining up the planets the way she wants them. When she gets them just right she thrusts the last one forward, releasing them in to the universe. Thousands of spheres that shoot out of the soup of life back into space.
She sees evil around her, decides to leave her planet behind to go and fight this evil and when she wins, she gets to create the Universe she wants to live in.

The video only grabbed me from wen she is wearing the red outfit, she looked hot. Even the dancing in it were not on point at all. Wen I first heard the song I pictured it at a hot ass clubb and full on dancing. Very disapointed wit it. Not a good start Janet. i like the video … it was a lil abstract but it was cool … that lil bit at the end was cool..
The video is definately interesting and a lot different to what everyone else is doing at the moment and I think that’s the point. Janet hasn’t survived this long by biting other people’s style.
And even though I’ve been bumping to this in my car for over two weeks now and love it I still pine for the Janet who gave us That’s The Way Love Goes and Miss You Much but I guess she is in a different place right now and the industry is definately is!
