Following the success of Kelly Rowland’s recent releases here in Europe, it is being reported that the ‘Like This’ singer is set to start recording her third solo album next week. No further details are available at time of writing. {Source} Your thoughts?

I’m in agreement, Still In Love with my Ex wud have pushed the album SO MUCH.
But hey ho, if she’s not releasing it then fair enough. Its good that she’s recording a new album, i kinda thought that after the poor reception Ms. Kelly got that she’d be dropped n fade away into obscurity.
I think what Kelly needs to do is start listening to her fans, i remember a while back there was a vote for the 2nd single… I think Work & Still in love with my ex were the fan favourites?
So instead of listening to what people wanted she gos and releases Ghetto… FLOP! Then Daylight… FLOP! When she finally decided to drop Work it was still a hit even when all the hype had gone.
If this next project is gonna be a success she really needs to learn from the mistakes that she made with Ms. Kelly.
1) Listen to what the public want (after all its us who are gonna be buying the record)
2) Promote the album this time, do TV spots, video’s, radio airplay, club mixes etc etc… get it out there to people.
3) Release good mass-appeal singles (preferable WITHOUT a 6-8 month gap between singles)
4) Dont delay the album when its got an announced release date, u keep on delaying it, people will just get bored of waiting and lose any hype they had for it.
Basically, dont make the the same mistakes that sealed Ms. Kelly’s fate.
I’m glad she’s recording a new album, lets hope we don have to wait half a decade to get it this time round?
I KNOW SHE OWES COLUMBIA SOME MAJOR MONEY…CAUSE SHE SURE DIDN’T MAKE THEM ANY MONEY WITH THIS PROJECT. SHE NEEDS TO FOCUS ON HER OVERSEAS FANS AND JUST DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE US ANYMORE…ITS NOT WORKING OUT FOR HER.

I am agreeing with everyone on here, the single choices were wrong. They should have released SILWME and LOVE, both smash hits.
Ok, I love that Kelly is working on album number 3. I hope that she gets more club joints like work. All she will need is a great 1st single, PROPER PROMOTION, great live performance, and everything should fall into place. And to jump on the band wagon, Still In Love With My X was my S**t.
if she would’ve been on a good tour when her cd dropped the first time, with like someone who was doing something, her cd would’ve been alot more successful than it was. i love kels, but when she had her lil club tour she came NO WHERE near me, i wish she would’ve came to chicago, but what’d she have like ten shows at the most? She did one show with Mario in Georgia, i think Kelly and Mario would’ve been a great full length tour to have.. but that’s just my opinion.
Kelly is a world renowned artist. She is established and successful in her own right;yet, she has never done a world tour (as a solo artist that is). Touring is where the money is,but Kelly does not,nor does her label seem very interested in making as much money as they can from this project. Maybe it’s because they don’t think Kelly can pack a stadium. Maybe that’s why she prefers smaller “more intimate” venues. If her team would market and promote her correctly I’m sure she could be great on tour,but she has to WANT it. Time will tell.
I am happy that Kelly is doing a 3rd album but I hope she changes recording company or drastically do something about her promotions team. -More airplay, more advertisements, endorsements, posters, etc.
Ms. Kelly tracks got very little air play- Like this is so catchy and powerful. it could easily have been #1 but they dont pay to play it over and over like No One, Irreplaceable and Umbrella. Every 5 minutes those songs were on somewhere.
Management also needs to try to secure some major endorsement deals for Kelly.
The main reason Beyonce gets so much promo is because she has a lot of endorsements. The reality is that it takes money to put on big tours so you need major sponsors. These people only think in terms of how much return they can get on thier investment and they know Beyonce can draw a crowd because DC was centred around her plus all the side projects she was doing. Hence she keeps getting these endorsements (perfume, phone,directTV, etc) and movie roles because even if you say she can’t act those people made a fortune off Dreamgirls, Pink Panther and all the other movies she has been in. Anything her name is attached to makes money.
I hope somebody takes a risk with Kelly because all she needs is a chance to prove herself.
