Leona’s ‘Bleeding Love’ Hits #1 On Hot 100

Leona's 'Bleeding Love' Hits #1 On Hot 100 It would appear that Leona Lewis is, indeed, set for international stardom. The East Londoner’s hit single ‘Bleeding Love’ toppled Usher’s ‘Love In The Club’ to take the top spot on the US Hot 100 singles chart this week. Lewis has already broken records with the song, having spent seven straight weeks atop of the Official UK Singles Chart last year.
First Amy, then Estelle and now Leona; it seems folks in the the States are taking quite a liking to some of the UK’s finest offerings. ‘Bleeding Love’ is a great track, as is Leona a great vocalist, so I’m real happy at this achievement.

Any thoughts?

Go Leona, conquer the US! I hope with Clive Davis’ help she’s around for years. He and LA Reid are keeping the divas Whitney, Janet and Mariah on form and on top!

I f*kin adore this girl. Not only is she gawguss and undeniably talented but she has got to be one of thee most humble sweet people ive evr seen. She’s truly a breath of fresh air in a wold saturated with generic pop singers and gimmmicks(even though i love me some b. spears). She honestly is legend potential heck bleeding love is my wedding song. LOVE hER!! my boyfirend is probably so jealous.

I love it. I was hoping for Top 10 but to go to Number 1 is just fantastic. The Uk has its own international megastar diva.
    Long may she make music.

Am i the only person that doesnt buy into Leona Lewis “The Megastar”?

Don’t get me wrong, I do like her voice but i wasnt blown away by the quality of her spirit album.

She has a beautiful voice but for me theres a significant lack of personality & soul which makes her sound come across as a little incincere.

All the songs on Spirit were “nice” but “nice” doesnt quite cut it when your being compared to megastars such as Mariah or Whitney. I thought her album was good, but it came across as too safe, very generic and lacked any kind of stand out classic tracks.

In a nutshell, spirit was a good album, but very forgettable.

I’m still undecided on whether its her or the production of the album that hasnt won me over? I guess time will tell?

I do commend Leona for what she has acheived so far but to hold an illustrious & prosporous career, shes gotta step her game up.

I don’t mean to be a hater but I think Leona definately got lucky with bleeding love hitting numba 1 in the US.

I think it were more of a case of there being very little competition for the top-spot right now rather than her being a megastar. Right Place, Right Time.

U can bet ur top dollar that if usher were promoting love in the club, that wud have held the top stop strong for another few weeks.

My stance right now though is if she was on stage along side the likes of Mariah, Whitney, Christina Aguilera or Jennifer Hudson – her credibility as a potential Diva would have to be questionned?

she’ll do well if she distances herself from simon cowell! he’s waaay past it & his oppinion of whats good is dated big time. she really has an amzing voice but her album is boring, for me she also unfortunately lacks stage presence and personality. i’m from the uk & am so bloody sick of that song when it was No1 here it was on the radio every freekin 5 mins. would like her to do something edgy and upbeat – perhaps now shes broken the states she may work with goos US producers.
