Usher’s performance was a disappointment, and it wasn’t because of no Beyonce or Lil Wayne there with him.
His performances recently have left me underwhelmed seriously.

SPOILERS.
So…today (Monday) I had the chance to see a few of the dress rehearsals for the BET Awards tomorrow. Some good, some surprises, and some disappointments.
First up was the tribute performances to Al Green. Anthony Hamilton, Jill Scott (I was bummed cause she couldn’t make the rehearsal), and Maxwell will all sing classic Al Green songs…Maxwell was off the chain. Then Al Green came out and sang Let’s Stay Together and Love and Happiness…he smashed it, it’s crazy because it was a young crowd, but he got everyone hyped!
Next, T Pain had his time. I wasn’t expecting much from him, but surprisingly, his set was pretty entertaining. He has a big circus theme with girls dancing on stilts, acrobats, a midget fire breather…his performance was crazy!! It was coo to see it live, but i’m not sure how it will translate to TV. He had a bunch of special guest including; Ludacris, Big Boi, DJ Kaled, Ric Ross, and Flo Rida.
Rihanna was next and everyone was pretty hungry by now. It didn’t help that she only did TAB and took the longest amount of stage time, and only ran her song twice. No one was feeling it…hopefully she’s saving the hottness for the actual show. Oh and she had the nerve to have a closed set where no one was allowed in or out, so this meant that our lunch was sitting outside of the auditorium getting cold! One girl even said that she wished LeToya Luckett was performing instead…I got hella juiced!!! lol
Alicia did her thing. She started of with Superwoman and then moved into TLA. Then came the big surprises! She assembled all together on stage, 3 of the biggest girl groups of the 90’s and sang their hits with them. SWV – Weak; En Vouge – Hold On; and TLC – Waterfalls. This is gonna be big, it was HOTT!!!
Last we were SUPPOSED to see Usher’s set, but his ass kicked us all out.
It was a looong day, but I’m glad I went. It was cool seeing all these acts rehearse and prepare for the show.
btw…Sunday they had the other half of the acts prepare so I didn’t get to see any of the other performers like Lil Wayne, Lil Kim, etc…
I personally have a problem that BET constantly awards the same ppl year after year. Missy did not deserve the Female Hip Hop Artist award. She’s had one song this year. Come on now. Give it to Lil Mama or Trina. Let someone else have a chance to win.
I never thought I would see the day that Ne-yo SMASHES Usher with his performance game. Incredible. Gotta loves Jabba.
Where the hell is Dream?? I know he didn’t have anything else better to do. I hate when people do not show up to award shows. It’s disrespectful.

So far I am very dissapointed with the show. Usher’s performance was hot but I wish he would have brung out beyonce and lil Wayne. The stage seems like it’s too small. Keyshia Cole always has a problem singing live. Neyo thinks he is Prince. Jeezy was wack. So far Alicia Keys had the best performance. I hope Nelly performs with Ciara. Ciara’s energy is the only thing that can save this show

I really didn’t think the show was that bad. I actually thought it was better than good. I thought D.L. Hughley was funny. This is coming from someone who is not a fan of his, and has very low expectations for him. Maybe my expectations were so low that he easily surpassed them.
