Toni Braxton Signs With Atlantic

Toni Braxton Signs With Atlantic According to our friend Jawn Murray, over at AOL BV Buzz, R&B songstress Toni Braxton has signed a new record deal with Atlantic Records – the recording home of T.I. Check out the report below:

The R&B diva, currently competing on the ABC reality series ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ quietly inked a deal with the label recently and has been selecting music to begin recording her CD for Atlantic while competing on the show.

I’m told the label plans to have Braxton’s first offering for the company ready for early 2009.

The 40-year-old singer was last signed to Blackground Records, where she released her fifth album ‘Libra’ in September 2005.

Braxton, who had released four albums over a 12-year stint on LaFace Records, then filed suit against Blackground’s founder Barry Hankerson, who was also Braxton’s manager, after her CD failed to perform.

It’s great to see Toni getting back to what she does best – the music. As one of those who really enjoyed her last LP ‘Libra’, it disappointed me how mismanaged that whole episode was. Here’s hoping the future’s bright for one of music’s most distinguished voices.

SHE MUST THINK SHE 20 SOMETHING, MUTTON DRESSED AS LAMB AND SO TRYING TO BE S*** IN THAT PICTURE, WOULDN’T BE SUPRISED IF IT WAS AIRBRUSHED

The picture was actually taken by her husband, with very little airbrushing. All pictures are airbrushed to some extent. And if Janet Jackson, Madonna, Stacey Dash, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Lisa Raye, Mariah Carey, etc., (all beautiful women same age bracket) can be s***, why can’t Toni. You mad you don’t have a body like hers? HAHAH It kills me the amount of hate some fat ugly internet couch potatoes have for beautiful talented people.

^^^^^^ LOL, WHY IS THAT EVERY ASSHOLE THINKS THAT A HATER ON THE INTERNET MUST BE FAT AND UGLY, I COMMENTED AT 1.52PM AND I AM NOT FAT, YOU DICKHEAD, I ACTUALLY LOOK GOOD IN CLOTHES AND IN ALL MY BIKINI’S, PLUS I AM HALF HER AGE TOO, NOT HATING JUST SAYING WHAT I THINK

JANET JACKSON LOOKS HOT FOR HER AGE, SO I AM NOT KNOCKING ALL THE 40 SOMETHING BTW

Well good, I'm so tired of these non singers out right now. It's good to see true talent coming back to R&B.

The poster above me is really ignorant. When did singing become an art only for youth? Never. True talent never dies no matter how old you get. Yeah you can say whatever you wnat on a blog, but you have really shown how retarded you are. 🙂

I’ve always been a HUGE Toni fan. I lost a little bit of interest after More Than A Woman, but Libra ended up more than making up for it. I may even consider Libra as my favorite over her first two albums (both incredible). She’s killing on DWTS.

I think going to Atlantic is a bad move. After Brandy's Never Say Never, they did not prioritize her as an R&B/Pop artist. (Foolishly) I cannot see them doing it now, with Toni.

why are jealous people so ignorant? We all have an opinion, but why when it come to black artist we are so judgemental. I never see anyone downing white artist for undressing, fakeness, surgery, mariah- beyonce – madonna- most of them have had plastic surgery it is there bussiness, their money , their art respect it. should they all sound and look the same or so we all just think white woman look much better. society really have conditioned us to hate our own people. These comments must be by young people fifteen or younger. Don’t forget the veterans ( toni-janet-whitney-etc ) they are the real deal always. just because someone don’t hit number one for twenty years ( which is rediculous ) doesn’t mean they are over. The music out here now ( beyonce – rihanna- ) we have heard already and quite frankly we are tired of them both already in the little amount of years they have been out. ( neither of them have talent besides shaking b*** and slinging hair everywhere ) but i will always support my people no matter how little talent they have ( beyonce ) No matter what our opinion is of anyone of them remember they are all millionairs. Are you. because i’m not

oh and i forgot one important thing to mention because of a post re: janet not having a number one hit in a few years. On the 20 y.o album call on me went No one. so excited went no.1 on the club charts as did feedback, allnite don’t stop, and roch with you. Janet will always go no.1 on one of the charts so don’t worry don’t hate. she is a legend weather you like her or not. Most of the new artist mimic their careers after these talented strong sisters. remember cream always rise to the top always. You can never destroy a sista not with the amount of talent they have. Janet Rhythm Nation tour still hold record for highest grossing ( noone beat that yet for a debut tour ) and her current tour Which was fantastic like espected. Learn music, the business, stage theatrics, customes. entertainers don’t wear their street cloths on stage that would be boring. You need razzle, dazzle ( the long hair, crazy costumes etc. I currently attend baltimore school of the arts and i know for a fact these stars ( artist ) have alot to do than what we see. behing the scenes is crazy and then they have to please us ( the unreasonable, poor, judgemental public ) that have no life, talent. probably just a bunch of babies and no good men.

GLAXOSMITHKLINE will take a 16-percent stake in Africa’s biggest generic drug maker, Aspen Pharmacare, to expand its emerging market footprint in a deal worth 3.47 billion rand (US$418 million).
