Kelly Rowland & Nadiya – ‘No Future In The Past’

Published: Monday 27th Oct 2008 by Sam

The video for Kelly Rowland’s duet with French singer Nadiya ‘No Future In The Past’ made its debut today on NRJ. If I’m to be honest, the song leaves a lot to be desired (put simply, it’s not that good), yet the video is visually engaging. Tidbit: Kelly does look near-flawless in the clip. Definitely a fan of this look.

Randomness: I’m still anxious to hear what Kelly will be serving up on her next solo outing (said to be pencilled in for an April 2009 release). Though there have been murmurings about a more European-targeted LP, I’m hoping for more R&B/Pop from the 28 year old star. Perhaps it’s just me, but I’ve always wanted to hear Kelly ride a ‘Lose My Breath’-esque track solo. That would be a good look IMO. Anyway, as you can see, my random rambling is more than what post’s actual topic LOL. I’ll call it a post by leaving you with Kelly’s MTV Japan performance of the original first single from ‘Ms. Kelly’ ‘Gotsta Go’:

She nailed it!

I actually like this song and video (mainly because I like Kelly voice on the track).

I can’t wait for her new album. I like kelly vocals during the Survivor and simply Deep era. Like Whitney Houston her voice just fits SOOOOO perfectly on Pop Records. Like she has hints of RnB in her voice, but I really hear pop/rock when I listen to her.

I don’t blame her for focusing on Europe although as a U.S. fan I am sad lol. However, I understand we U.S. fans are quite ignorant about good music and accepting artists who try to step outside the norm. We aren’t very accepting of talented darker skinned women often for some reason. Its silly. it makes me sad that if you are not a select few artists (Rihanna, Mariah, Janet, Madonna, Beyonce, etc.) Your not ampt to do well in the states. I mean if one more half singer hits it big with that crutch called auto-tune I am going to SNAP lol.

    Anywho LOVE YOU KELLY!!!!

Kelly’s new single is all over the web today (google Kelly Rowland Blaze)so that should give you an idea of the direction she’s going. I wouldn’t classify it as European.

Honestly it just puts me in the mindset of B. and Shakira’s joint. I like Kelly but I ain’t crazy about the song. The only thing is if she is gettin more love overseas then I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Hope this album does better than the last.

Hi evr1. I'm french and I just wanted to say: this song sucks. Only Kelly is good enough. Then please stop calling those s*** songs: europeen, shame on our f****** producers of music. Fortunately severals can be saved, but trust me not this 1. ANd to stop the "clichés" you have on us, french, I'm gonna tell U a secret: American hip-hop & entertainment in general are the best in the world. Peace

that song is just a bunch of noise…

  15. Anonymous October 27, 2008

I always thought “Gotsta Go” should have been her first single. The song was hot and all it needed was a remix with a popular rapper like luda or wayne. That song would have been kelly’s big hit as a solo artist.

I hope Kelly does well.! I certainly think she has the talent and deserves it.
