LeToya Preps 'Lady Love' For 09 Release

Our friends over at Rap-Up.com are reporting that former Destiny’s Child star LeToya Luckett is set to release her sophomore effort ‘Lady Love’ on March 24th next year.

Luckett has been working with Chris Brown, Missy Elliott, Ne-Yo and more on the follow-up to her 2006 Platinum certified (self titled) debut. It’s being said that a track written by Mr Irreplaceable himself (Ne-Yo) is a strong contender for first single.

I’ve said this many a time, but LeToya’s first album stands as one of the most solid and consistent R&B efforts in recent times IMO, so I sure anything am looking forward to this new record.

Are you checking for LeToya’s new album?

I'm a SO looking forward to her comeback, and I expect a bang. She's very solid, and has so much more confidence, personality, and presence than many singers who are superior than her. Her confidence, personality, and decent R&B makes her contender for a long-lasting career. I'm not sure she will sky-rocket, but I think she will steady do BIG things, and build her a career with the quality to match. Go Toya!

She is a very talented girl . . . she has some good people on the project . . . I’m sure she will bring it . . .

No, I’m not really looking for it.

I bought her debut solo, and it didn’t really impress me. Not to mention it really pisses me off when you buy a solo debut from and artist and they only release 2 singles from it.

On top of that “She Don’t” the 2nd single didn’t even do well. So did “Torn,” really allow this album to go platinum, thats kinda crazy to me!

I'M REALLY HAPPY TO KNOW THAT SHE WILL HAVE A SECOND ALBUM BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE IN HER POSITION DON'T SUCCEED. ( I HOPE AUBREY & D.WOODS ARN'T GONNA BE LOOKING STUPID IN 5 YEARS) BUT BACK TO SUBJECT I CAN'T WAIT HER 1ST ALBUM WAS A CLASSIC, ISTLL PLAY IT ONCE AND A WHILE, BUT I HOPE HER 1ST SINGLE IS GONNA TOP " TORN" BECAUSE THAT WAS ALSO A CLASSIC. BUT I'M ROOTING FOR HER I KNOW SHE'LL BRING IT SECOND TIME AROUND

“So did “Torn,” really allow this album to go platinum, thats kinda crazy to me!”

it might have been certified platinum but it didn’t sell platinum…it sold like 750k world wide…i bought the album but i didnt like how she put all those old ass songs on there…some of the songs were over 2 years old…other than that it was an ok album

I don’t think she is thinking about beyonce and I am sure she is happy it sold what it did cause getting a second chance at music is a blessing and she always handles things with class. I am checking for this cause I know she is going to bring it in her own way. I am proud of her cause she has come a long way and her first album I still play today.

That unrealistic cus Bee has he own status but I actually hope Bee & Toy write 2gether too Re-Kindle that "The Writings On The Wall" flavour cus i think Toy can defo mix the Raw R&B with the lighter popish sounds that seem to have invaded the R&B scene.

Love Toy & a lot of tracks from the 1st & i think this one may end up better overall album wih less rappers on it..

Love her humble and cool personality as its never fake or forced

i like her and i think her first album was decent.

but most "solid & consistent" r&b effort? come on now. let's not exaggerate.

SHE IIGHT – i only like torn and that was forced down my throat. not really checking for her unless she does something diff

Good for Toya. Looking forward to it.

The reason there were only two releases because Capital merged with Virgin and this caused promotion and money on the album to cease pretty much. You can check it out on wikipedia. I do remember reading about it in some interviews Toya had done as well. She wasn’t happy with it, but what could she do.

I suppose but I did see that off of Wikipedia. But it also said that Chingy, Janet, and Cherish were affected by it. So them 4 makes me think that’s was just a cover up/good thing to say cause of it’s timing since their follow up singles didn’t do well.

her vocals lack in a major way, her image isnt innovative enough- for me a true R&B fan, she is a total disregard in terms of artistry. with beyonce stepping her game up, rihanna on another level- `toya needs to come wit it hard to even make a considerational effort of competition. not to mention, her first album was recorded as one of the lowest selling number one albums in history. it takes more than a pretty face to sell as a rightful R&B act.

It’s about time. I love her first album. I’m hoping the sophmore album will be just as hot as her debut.

ugh..her time is over. I really don't see the "it" factor on her…She's going to have to do something ahead of the curve to even get a cinch of spotlight now that the A-list Diva's (Britney & Beyonce) has returned along with current "It" Girl Rihanna…

  24. Anonymous December 18, 2008

And mark my words everybody who doubted and still doubt Letoya y’all gone eat y’all words. I promise. If you like the girl then that’s just that, if you don’t then leave it alone.
