New Song: Ciara – ‘I’m A G (Snippet)’

Published: Tuesday 17th Feb 2009 by Sam

With Ciara’s ‘Fantasy Ride’ LP now affirmatively set for a April 7th release, more new material from the record continues to surface; the latest being ‘I’m A G’. Produced by Danja (Britney Spears, Missy Elliott, Danity Kane), the club banger of cut definitely sounds like a winner.
Listening to this, though, has me wondering why it wasn’t lined up as the album’s lead single, after the epic fails of ‘Go Girl’ and ‘Never Ever’, the latter of which is struggling to make an impact on the Billboard chart as I type.  ‘Promise’ aside, CiCi is renown for her uptempo cuts, so straying away from that, seemingly on purpose, with material that just isn’t up to par, is really baffling to me. Here’s hoping things kinda work themselves out with this project.
Hit or Miss?

Um…what exactly about this song should have made it a lead single?!!!

  2. Anonymous February 17, 2009

dang, so quick to call something a fail. just dance was out for a year before becoming #1 on billboard. promise took 1 month to impact on billboard. why do you only do that with ci. all the other artist you post here from jasmine sullivan to keisha cole never had any real impact on hot 100. you don’t call them ‘epic fails.’

ci will do her #s regardless so…

    spare me the nonsense grapejuice.

Never Ever is doin real well on the R&B/hip hop charts and the mega hit show 106 – too soon to call it an epic failure (editors mistake) and this song is OFF the hooooK! I love her uptempo hits, this has the Goodies/like a boy swag to it. She NEEDS to capitalize on THIS genre in music before she branches out, her music is good music as far as im concerned

I am assuming this is her verison of Beyonce “DIVA”

  14. Anonymous February 17, 2009

This has groove!!! makes me wanna sweat!!

  15. Anonymous February 17, 2009

This sucks. Is her ear for good music gone? I haven’t liked any of her leak material lately or her new single.

  16. Anonymous February 18, 2009

I like her, but I’m not feeling this song. Where is her talent at at this point. I think she needs to go back to her roots of music. It’s okay to try new things, but this isn’t for her. CiCi please come back with something better.
