Major potential, but most of it is Techno Filler. Not a good look.
I love love love the growth from him and taking chances not being in a box. Album sounds amazing.
Sounds like a winner to me, you can’t really judge on snippets but the snippets only want to make me want to listen to them in full, which can only be a good thing, I will be buying the album, without no question. The different styles of music is great, if your only into one type of sound musically then your boring. Chris always delivers.
Way, way too much filler. Too many songs sound like retreads of over songs on the album. I don’t think it shows growth or a new direction, either. I don’t think this album is making any sort of statement, unless the statement is “I want to be as middle-of-the-road as possible.”
I would have trouble choosing the next single, because every song sounds “just ok” but they’re all basically alike.
“Girlfriend” is a blatant black eyed peas ripoff. A few other songs sound like “Forever”-wannabes, but I guess that is to be expected.
“For Ur Love” sounds pretty cute though – but also like a BEP/Forever mashup of some sort.
Too many songs. I agree that some songs sound the coninuation of some other songs. Too many features too.

THIS CD IS GOING TO BE SO HOT!
Urban music is going through a HUGE change right now. Most popular R&B artists are going very pop/techno (Beyonce, Trey Songz [lots of Prince sounding songs on his cd], Chris Brown, Rihanna, Usher, etc.).
Since Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga are selling the most… it’s obvious that R&B artists that are barely keeping record deals (LeToya, Mario, Amerie, etc.) are going to have to catch up. Even Mariah needs to take notes and realize that pop does not mean 80’s remakees (this coming from a lamb), but from incorporating the new dance sound.
Sounds like it’s going to be a winner Chris!
And to people who think there is too much filler or songs on this album, this is the deluxe edition.. the standard edition only has 13 songs. Just felt like pointing that out.
What the hell? Most of the deluxe tracks sound better than the standard ones? I wanted something NEW and DIFFERENT from him, this sounds like his other two albums but a little worse. I’m not knocking it snippets are so misleading but I LOVE Exclusive and this doesn’t sound like it will beat it… I thought after all he’s been through this year it would push out iconic music meaningful stuff too from him… sounds like retro trash

@ Curtis, and everyone else trying to sum up the album, before we’ve even heard it all,
you can’t judge an album based on snippets, until you hear every track in full, save your opinions, so far we’ve heard I Can Transform Ya, Crawl, Sing Like Me, So Cold and they’ve all been great, I think this album will have something for everyone and I do believe his grown as an artist and the more tracks the better, more for your money, so I don’t understand those who complain about too many tracks on album, that way you can find more songs to like then to dislike. Chris keep up the good work.

But still sounds good I’m not proclaiming it trash, but it doesn’t sound like anything new or innovative from him at all. I like the singles off his first album, and Exclusive is an amazing album and I already snippets I know I’m going to love in full but I’m just saying doesn’t sound like something mind-blowing.
I’ve been soaking in Rated R and Rihanna is becoming an artist, she didn’t just do pop records to duplicate GGGB, she actually said stuff this time and it’s huge growth for her, I mean I can’t even believe such amazing s*** like Cold Case Love and Fire Bomb came from her…

Rated R. is tooo dark for me. Other then Rude Boy/Photographs/So Hard I can’t deal with that album. Plus that concert in London showed me vocally it was ALL studio. lol I’m sorry, her producer had to know sooner or later should have to perform it life so don’t tweak it much because it was not a good look.

@Curtis…I read this article awhile back this vocal coach in the industry talked about Chris Brown’s vocals and he said their are alot of young male singers in the industry that get on steroids to quickly mature there vocals…he said you can tell Chris is not going that route…he also stated roids can be really dangerous but in the industry he it’s strongly encouraged…
I believe this album is going to be great…he is stepping outside of the R&B box which is really good because R&B at the moment is not doing well so Chris is trying to evolve as a artist….I want Chris to step up his game and really be like his idol MJ and learn to sing and dance at the same time…Beyonce is proof it can be done…he is growing he’s only 20…

As for R Rated!! That’s my jawnt!!!!! Omg!! People say it dark. Yeah, it’s dark, but I like dark music and it’s soooo consistent. I mean, as a CD it feels “whole ” and cohesive. Rihanna surprised me this time out and I have not like her in the past. But this CD is ORIGINAL. When Russian Roulette comes on the radio it does not sound like all the other songs. And that is why Rihanna will continue to blaze her own lane. I just “Mad House” was a real song!!!!

Sorry being competently honest this coming from RihRih fan RR is a piece of SH*T minus 2-3 songs. SORRY! I can’t be a stan for that album, vocally and productions wise I see change but final results no…. Kinda disappoint, it just seems like a rushed album to me.
I am interesting to hear the full album of Graffiti from the snippets it sounds promising.
As far as his voice is concerned, you guys must realize that it’s not really something he can help. Male’s mature differently and slower than females, and in Chris’ case, that’s just the way it is. His voice will mature in due time.
As far as the album preview, I could care less. Based on most of the comments, I’m not blowing up my already slow ass internet to listen to the preview of some s***** album I’m not going to buy.
Those who are comparing him to his ex, get over yourselves! They BOTH equally suck when it comes to vocals, so let’s not even go there…
