Uber Diva Mariah Carey‘s performance of ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ on UK show This Morning aired today. The performance, which was filmed last week, was a little hit and miss. There is no question about it, Ms. Carey-Cannon lip-synched several parts of this performance, yet she sounded pretty decent on the live sections too (aside from a few doo-doo notes).
It’s a shame she has to lip-synch when her voice is her most renown talent. Hence why I kinda give Whitney Houston props over ol’ Mimi. Ms. Houston could be sounding a hot mess (as evidenced in some of her performances pre-comeback), yet as I type I’m struggling to remember an instance when Whitney has ever mimed in recent times (Superbowl doesn’t count). NOW ITS SO FUNNY TO ME HOW PEOPLE (ONLY WHITNEY FANS) COME UP WITH ALL THESE REASON FOR WHITNEY, WHEN WHITNEY HONESTLY SOUNDS TERRIBLE THESE DAYS. WHEN MARIAH DOES SING LIVE, HALF OF YOU (WHITNEY FANS) DONT WANT TO GIVE IT TO HER BECAUSE DEEP DOWN INSIDE YOU KNOW MARIAH STILL HAS IT, JUST NOT ALL THE TIME. MY GOD SHE IS NOT 28 ANY MORE (ALTHOUGH SHE THINKS SHE IS 12). THE WOMEN REALLY HASNT STOP PUTTING OUT ALBUMS FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS NOW…THINK ABOUT IT. THERE WAS NO COMEBACK FOR HER. No matter what happened with Whitney! She’ll always be the best ever! Mariah losts your soul! She does the same thing always! I used to like Mariah but now she’s like the old divas from the past ! Whitney is old now but she’s like a true diva! I look to you is an amazing album!
I love the old Whitney, but her new album is boring – the studio vocal ability is still awful by Whitney, there are no HIGH vocals, so it is an effectless album at all.
Despite of this, Mariah’s current LP, Memoirs… is a lyrcally, vocally, musically, etc. fantastic and awesome record. I think it is her BEST record yet! And I think her voice is back again.
Mariah’s live őerformances are far better than the ones of Whitney.
I respect Whitney because of her power of recovering from drug consumption, but as a musician she is not that big anymore.
Really , she’s performed this song a lot over there in the UK , & has been doing tons of interviews, Mariahs voice isn’t one that can be strained , I mean look at all the perfomances of this song , they’ve neverr dissipointed. Yu can’t look over whits bad performances just cause yu feel bad for her, she did drugs, got clean , GET OVER IT.
i think she was awesome, though i too doubt she was singing live at some parts.. but i want her to promote H.A.T.E.U. instead!!!!!!
