I actually think she sounded good.Rihanna like Shakira just has one of those voices that you either like or hate.Whether or not her vocals have improved I cant really say cuz if you really think about it Rihanna hasn’t had that many televised live performances so there’s not that many to judge from. I heard her entire album and I’d say its gloomy rather than dark and edgy like she says. She’s no Beyonce vocally, we all know that, and sometimes her vocals are a bit off but I still like her songs – she has still put out a good album!! Admittedly though she would need to up it a bit on the live vocals front!
She doesn’t sound great (although she does the Wait Your Turn chorus well) but it doesn’t really matter to me. I’m just glad she sings live when the likes of Britney, Madonna etc mime and turn out crappy performances. Rihanna is always interesting to watch.
It’s because of the Bobs and Nickys of this world that she is still trying to sing, the main word is “TRYING” she should have by now mastered the art of something when performing live and moving. They are talking about the studio enhanced songs not the live stuff that proves the Bobs and Nickys wrong every time she opens her mouth. Everything thus far she has done has been free if she continues to showcase her vocals on this level she will never get a good selling audience. No one in their right mind wants to pay for something like this and I dont care what she has on. Backtracking, voice overs and backup singer dont get it, Rihanna is a terrible performer, singer and she has not grown vocally or on her stage performance. Even Alicia Keys and Mary J at least try and we know for a fact neither can.

You can’t hear the sounds as I can’t because it has been edited out. Rihanna is terrible in the vocals department and today it’s about selling her ablum so the sound had to be edited. Is it true her label is selling her ablum for $1-$3.99. Went to Walmart and pick up the I AM Yours and it is off the hook. Since i purchase it today already have seen it 3times.Beyonce puts on a show and her vocals are amazing,she gives you back more than yur money’s worth. Rihanna has fashion style and that’s the hype behind her.

Ok I don’t normally comment on this site but I had to say something. To say somebody is ignorant just because somebody doesnt like the same artist that you do is stupid. and ignorant in itself. Also is even more ignorant to not be honest if your favorite artist didnt have a good performance they didn’t have a good performance. I actually like some of rihanna music and think her voice works well on some records like take a bow, distrubia, umbrealla, breaking dishes and some of her previous work., but it still remains if u have a different voice and cant pull it of vocally live rather u sing live or not or you cant perform your ass off then what good are u other than a studio artist. i know someone mentioned ciara earlier …yes she is not the best singer but she dont go out her range and she normally sings live as well and atleast she dance her ass off in most of her performances or have some kinda stage pressence when she dont…..rather the critics say the album is good or not the fact of that matter is the performances for it havent been good….and although russian roullete and hard are ok songs none of which have even been anywhere as good in my opinion are as good as even the gggb.
@ LOS I agree with you. I’m a Whitney fan and got called a hater when I commented that I didn’t think she good at the AMA.
She is supposed to know how to dance and sing, but you wouldn’t know it. She just walks across the stage looking fierce (which she definitely does), but that is not what an artist is supposed to do (including rappers). There is supposed to be something else there to make me want to see you in person. If its going to be like this I might as well just stay home and listen to the CD. I’ll get better vocals there anyway.
