Pop vocalist Leona Lewis performed on today’s ‘The X Factor’ finale. The singer did a rendition of Oasis’s ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’ which is featured on her ‘Echo‘ album. To date, the record has sold over 600, 000 units in the UK; a far cry from her sales in the US which have barely passed 100, 000 copies.
With the exception of a few off-key notes at the beginning, Leona certainly did her thing. Watching that performance reminded me of why Simon Cowell regards her as the best singer that he has discovered on any of his various talent show competitions. All she needs now is a bit more personality and she can very well be at the forefront of the next generation of divas.

Leona was amazing last nite! She proves time and time again why she is the best thing to come out of these shows! Trent, u keep criticising her personality! Sure, it’s just ur opinion but why does she have to have one of those in ur face personalities? Maybe she is just a girl from Hackney that just loves to sing and not fall into the trapfalls of fame? I’m personally very proud of her and she shows that u can be a normal girl and still achieve success! People who have below par voices (like rihanna and cassie) get criticised and then u acuse someone with one of the best voices to come out of England in a long time to have a lack of personality!
I think Leona is a great singer, but she doesn’t move me in the slightest. She can do all the runs, vibrato, and belting that she wants, but until she can put some grit/experience/emotion into her singing, she’s going to be a boring artist. I’m sorry to say that, as she has a hell of a lot of potential, but I just don’t think she’s come close to realizing it yet.
No shade in the slightest, just an honest opinion.

Trent, I would have u recheck your numbers. I’m pretty sure that she has not sold 600k in the UK, she may be certified double platinum but she is not near 600k. In fact, her album and single has underperformed a bit in the UK and Europe hence the reason why he had her back on X-Factor.
Think about it, she was already on there, her sales aren’t exploding and the album was aobut to leave top 15 so he puts her on again, #shameless
Amazing performance. When Trent says personality, he means in her songs. She just sings them, instead of actual feeling the lyrics.
No doubt Ms. Lewis can sang and her talent is something so rare in today”s industry, As for personality I must agree with Trent other than her talent Leona is not memorable she is like dry paint on the wall. I feel like her label screwed her by grooming her to be like another artist other than herself. They would have a better chance with her this go round if they would have focused on developing Leona the artist and woman. But I truly wish her all the best with her future in the industry because she is a truly a vocal gem for her generation and many to come.

I like Leona , but a great deal of her notes were off key and flat a great deal through out this performance.
