R&B hit-maker Ne-Yo made an appearance on ‘Live with Regis & Kelly’ recently. The singer/songwriter performed ‘Never Knew I Needed’ from the soundtrack of Disney’s ‘The Princess and the Frog’. The LP was released in stores on November 23rd.
This is a very pleasant song. However, there is something about Ne-Yo’s voice that does’t deliver the material in the way that leaves an impact on the casual listener. Whether it is his lack of power or just a natural ‘grit’, I felt that the performance came up wanting. Either way, it’s hard to deny that Ne-Yo is an immensely talented writer and one of the best dressed men in the game right now. It’s certainly refreshing to see him on stage without his pants sagging down to his knees like many of his contemporaries.

i freekin luv his voice
I think it’s pretty true that he lacks some of the full, rich tone that characterizes crooners like Mario, and he doesn’t have the grit of say, someone like Musiq or Lyfe Jennings. But that doesn’t change the fact that this live performance was largely on pitch and solidly performed. And I do appreciate that he’s sharply dressed. ^_^
well i like his voice but your right theres its not catchy for a disney song. a lot of the disney songs are really catchy but this one doesnt really grasp me. it could be his voice that doesnt match. maybe he should of done a duet to this or maybe could of gave it to a female vocalist. i dunno =/.
Hmmp……:/ I like the song. I loved the Movie as well.
