R&B contralto Jazmine Sullivan is preparing to release her sophomore album. The Lauryn Hill-inspired singer has been in the studio with some of music’s biggest hit makers including Ne-Yo, Carlos ‘Los Da Mystro’ McKinney and Ryan Leslie. The untitled LP hits stores in Summer 2010. {Source}
Sullivan has one of those voices reminiscent of those once heard on ‘Showtime at the Apollo’ in the early 1990’s. If her new album is anything close to what she did on her debut, then I am sure that she will have a hit on her hands. I still can’t believe that she did not win the ‘Best New Artist’ at last year’s Grammy Award ceremony, especially after hearing her live vocal performances of ‘Need U Bad’. Shame shame shame.

LOVES this news Jazmine! I been waiting FOREVER for this album girl! Her last album was the truth in my opinion but also at the same time there were those songs that would come on and you’d just be like…eww why is this song on the album? it doesn’t fit….but overall it definately changed the pace of music and i’m so glad that someone like her and with her style of music is keeping the game alive…her and Melanie Fiona are my two fave chicks in the game right now because Melanie Fiona’s “the Bridge” is another record that is on FIYAH 🙂

Cassie has failed how many times and wasn’t cassie booed when she did a performance a few years back,i think she did. I hate doing stuff like that but i hate it when people who are talented and can actually sing live and don’t need technology to make it sound like they can sing (cassie) plus Cassie had like what 3 songs on her album that were like kind of good compared to Jazmine that had deep tracks old skool feel good tracks as well as tracks that make you want to dance to. I would like to see cassie try to make an album somewhere near as good as miss Sullivan.Im looking forward to Miss Sullivans new album i cant wait.

@Sammy Your the only the Cassie fan on here… the only thing Cassie has is a body and hell if you ask me its not all of that… the only reason she probably sold as many records as she did is because of her naked pics…and if you have to show all to sell all…..well hell that says it all.. I’m sure many people will agree with me when i say Whitney’s Voice sounded better when she was on that stuff then Cassie’s voice dose. and even after the crack Whitney is still pullin it better the Cassie….but E-nuff about mis Houston.
