New Song: Usher – ‘Oh My Gosh (Ft. will.i.am)’

With his new album on the horizon, yet another track from Usher has surfaced. The track, ‘Oh My Gosh’, features and was produced by Black Eyes Peas mastermind will.i.am. Usher’s ‘Raymond vs. Raymond’ LP hits stores on February 16th.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the electronic dance element of the Black Eyed Peas ‘The E.N.D.’, I find this track to be a bit perplexing. The productions, chanting and Usher’s vocals all work well but the lyrics are juvenile at best. “Boobies like wow wow!” certainly do not scream “Grammy favourite!” in the least. However, as is blatantly evident in today’s music, lyrical froth does not define a hit. That’s a damn shame.

Hit or Miss?

  2. Time is ticking January 7, 2010

Don’t like it, I think he has lost it musically, his not making great songs like he use to.

  3. stan January 7, 2010

ok seriously, he has leaked enough songs to make an album now. wth is going on with his camp?

i loved 8701 and confessions but what is this trash. i guess he’s trying (and failing) to stay relevent

I don’t like it. It sounds like “What’s you name” on his previous album. I like the breakdown on this song though.

I haven’t heard one song that would even make me consider buying his album! I can’t understand how someone who has been very successful gets to this point and falls completely off. Is he trying too hard or what?

I guess I’ll listen to Trey Songz until Usher gets it together.

THIS IS HOT. From the synths/beat to the actual feel of being in a club getting stupid, this song is a winner. It’s silly but it’s fun and that Will’s niche. Everything you listen to doesn’t have to be f****** “Symphony No. 25”. Geez. Lighten up.

Usher is now only giving us club bangers…but no more confessions nor 8701…guess he is TRULY commercial now.

This is alright, but nothing I could play while relaxing with my husband. so…not buying the album.

@ Mark: we must go to completely different clubs because I would definitely walk out of any club I was at that starting playing this. LOL. (All in good fun.)

But seriously. Not a fan of the song at all. Too much going on with the beat and it’s a bit irratic like they had three of four beats they liked and just stuck them together. I think Usher is just having a bit of a problem finding a sound that stays true to him however may sound samey to his old stuff (Papers) but that’s fresh and not too far out there that he loses his fanbase. I think this one is too far out there.
