As Kelly Rowland puts the finishing touches on her 3rd studio album, a new track in the form of the Michael Buble assisted ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ has surfaced.
Though unlikely to feature on Ms. Kelly’s as yet untitled Universal Motown debut (despite probably being recorded during the same sessions), the song is a great take on the original Bee Gee’s classic. Some distance away from what we’re used to hearing from the Destiny’s Child star sound-wise, her criminally underrated vocals are given centre-stage here, with the beauty of her tone, range and delivery shining all the way through. Great track.

I think Kelly should do films. She is a WAY better actress than Beyonce. (Sorry Bey fans, I like her but not that terrible acting!) If her album doesn’t do well, I say she should go into film. She was in Freddy Vs. Jason, and did great.

Simply saying I think Kelly is a good actress, and if she was afforded the opportunity to act more, like one of her Destiny’s child group members…she would excel. I love her as a person and think she’s great.

she has always had a great voice by my standards. the song was beautifully done and I am anticipating the new album. Hopefully this time around her work doesn’t get overshadowed and, Beyonce doesn’t feel the need to do another video anthology and drop all the videos the week after Kelly’s release like she did the last time.

That’s why the internet is always a messy place to express one’s opinion. People read into it and attempt to place negativity where there is none.
No one threw shade at Beyonce. I used her as an example to illustrate a point. Those are two very different things, so don’t mis-characterize, or twist what I typed.
My opinion is that she’s a wonderful actress, and I should be able to compare her to anyone I like….especially someone very close to her who has gotten more opportunities than she has to act.
My point has not a hint of shade. Once again, I can post whatever I choose and I choose to post that Kelly Rowland is a bad bish and a very underrated actor compared to those who have gotten more opportunity than she.

A good pairing–the warmth of his voice really balances the treble in hers, and it’s a good rendition of the song. It’s a bit slow for me–my one quibble against both Kelly Rowland and Michael Buble is that they tend to slow down their songs just a little bit more than necessary. For example, Kelly’s “Work” didn’t really get good until the Freemasons sped it up a little on their remix–and Michael Buble is sort of notorious for taking all his standards into the medium swing tempo. I hope to hear more high-tempo songs in the future.

Kelly Rowland is talented and naturally beautiful, I remember reading Sister2Sister Magazine years ago, when DC former voice coach was interviewed, he admitted that Kelly Rowland actually had the better voice of the girls. It’s great that she is finally displaying her vocal range and stepping out of that backup singe image. And yes, she should broaden her horizons to acting roles. She’s a good actress. she is really talented, and hopefully she will just continue to break out and do her own thing. She’s begining to let her swag out, loves it. People underestimate this young woman.
BTW: I wonder how she felt when she or if she knows that Michael Jackson had a crush on her? I would sing a song about it. lol.

Oh,this is great. During her Ms.Kelly era she was interviewed and she mentioned that she wanted to duet with Micheal Buble. It’s nice to see things that Kelly says she wants to do getting done. I love the fact that they collaborated and even if this song is not featured on either of their albums,I’m sure it will be available on i-tunes for those who would like to purchase it as a single.
As for Kelly’s vocals,on point as usual. I love how soft and tenderly she began the song. Toward the middle she displayed that strong chest voice that she posseses and by the end of the song her vocals were soaring high as she displayed that marvelous head voice. Her beautiful tone and timbre matched Micheal Buble’s effortless tenore perfectly. They made beautiful music together. Loved every minute of it.

Wow. I am actually shocked. I like the song. I usually dismiss anything relating to Kelly and music because her work has disappointed me in the past. Basically, I had given up on her. It wasn’t until I heard When Love Takes Over – 3 months after its initial release – when I realize Kelly has actual talent. This cover of the Bee Gees sound is absolutely beautiful. Kelly FINALLY took control of her career. All she needed was new management and a team to help her. People can say what they want, but the truth is she was playing second fiddle to Beyonce under Matthew’s management. Beyonce is talented and a dynamic live performer, but in my opinion, she is no more talented than Kelly or Michelle. The only difference in the past, Beyonce had the team and money to promote her musical talents. Good luck Kelly. Hopefully 2010 is your year.

Um, I think it’s a pretty boring rendition. The tempo of the song was slowed down and the pacing of the singing was too drawn out. Not even in the same ballpark as the Bee Gees.
