Leona Lewis premiered the music video for her new single ‘I Got You’ moments ago. The song, which has thus far peaked at #29 on the UK R&B chart, serves as the 2nd single off of the vocal mistress’ sophomore album, ‘Echo’, in that territory. The LP has thus far been certified double platinum in the UK, despite barely selling over 100k in the US.
A video that tells a good story. This song should have been the 1st single from Lewis’ album instead of the dreadfully boring ‘Happy’. However, given that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I am certain that it will get the push it needs to climb the charts. Whether or not another single will be released in the US remains to be seen, although I highly doubt that most people in that country are eager to here more from ‘Echo’ given its album sales.

Echo could have been much better
but the first single sucked..
She should have went for
“Cant Breathe” or “Don’t Let Me Down”
“Can’t Breathe” would have been the better choice.

I thought it, and also she, was beautiful. This was my first time hearing the song and I like it immediately. With Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey not on top of their vocal game at the moment, she is the new vocal diva of the age IMO.

The video is good. & I actually thought “Happy” was a great 1st single. I mean I don’t expect Leona to get out there & be doing Beyonce or Ciara dance numbers. So, I take what she gives to me, & is happy. Because I know she can always work the hell out of a ballad vocally. Wish all the success to Leona, she’s very talented.

People love to talk about artist not showing anything but those are the artist at the top. Leona has no edge as soon as she get’s some she will be more interesting right now she’s not a must have. She aint no Whitney nor Mariah and probably wont ever be.
y’know, honestly, i LOVE the fact that she doesn’t feel the need to show all her goodies, but i still find her to be terribly boring and an overrated voice. gorgeous girl who seems really sweet in interviews, but she has zero personality and neither does her voice.
Some People just do not know raw talent when they see it… If she used autotune, got naked, wore hardly any clothes (Mariah Carey) i bet everyone would say “omg shes amazing” however because she is true to her talent people feel the need to slag her off and say shes boring.

Their gonna repush the song in the US to try and revive the sales for Echo and they’re also already casting for her next video shoot so there will be a third single in the US and UK, etc. Americans will definitely be seeing more of her with the upcoming push, cannot exactly say what it will be, but it’ll be a pretty big boost for her.
With that said, I love the video. The scenes in front of the heart on fire are amazing!
Why does every video of her seem like a huge brigade to show how pretty she is. She is a gorgeous bi-racial woman, we get it. On the plus side, this song isn’t as boring as her others, but is is still too safe. She needs revamping.
