Cheryl Cole Performs ‘Parachute’ On Live Lounge

Published: Tuesday 23rd Mar 2010 by Sam

UK media darling and X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge to perform new single ‘Parachute’. Check out how the former Girl’s Aloud singer fared above…

After watching that, I doubt I’ll ever moan about Cheryl’s now-notorious lip-synching again. Atrocious. Truth be told, I should known better when I initially saw the words ‘Cheryl Cole’ and ‘Live’. That said, I always thought that was an oxymoron. In any case, it makes you wonder how this beautiful young lady is judging other people’s talent on the X-Factor. Then again, I guess the answer lies in just that….her ‘beauty’…SMH.

What do you think of the performance?

You should post the cover of ‘Fireflies’ she did straight after this well. Oh dear…

oh God Cheryls ‘preformance’ on the live lounge was TERRIBLE!!! Compare that rubbish to some of the true talents that have preformed there; at least most people who go on the live lounge can actually sing! Shes just proved that she seriously cannot sing AT ALL. No wonder you always mime!

I am not shocked that the press want to put her on a pedastal. The best female singers in the UK are black ladies and the press just ignores them. They seem to want us to believe that Cheryl is the future of pop when she cannot sing to save her life.It was so bad and every forum is saying the same thing but tomorrow the press will be telling us she was amazing. That is why she avoids ;ive performances a complete disgrace

Nice to see people shouting about this “terrible” performance, live!
First, if you do not like, do not take too much of your time watching then writing so nice words. Zap and listen to your favourite singers. World is large enough for everybody.
Yes, Cheryl is not THE best singer of the world. Power of voice, rythm are to improve. However, she seems to fascinate, even those who hate her…
Anyway, I have liked her interpretations, even if powered by technology, surely because she is beautiful and energetic, nice to see dancing.
A woman, thrown in the middle of show business, gossips, eyes, etc
Your are against. I am for.

omg she was off tune throughout! I seriously hope Simon isnt making her a judge on the US X Factor.

…I do like the song though 😡

And you know what. I watched the fireflies one and she doesn’t sound bad when she belts, but I’m afraid the compliments end there. IDK. I like her though. When she says Make Myself Believe is passable though.

She has the budget, promotion, and support of the music industry in the UK …just shows what a sorry state the industry is in today – british TALENT – Beverley Knight, Terri Walker, Shola Ama and the likes and even Jamelia – all of who have true talent and can sing are totaly ignored…………..

Bev parted ways with her lable because she didnt sell to the extent she was expected to!!

Instead we dont nurture long talent we look a t cheap short term hits..the likes of Tinchy Strider, Wiley, N Dubz..instead of talent like for example Craig David and Lemar who are again being ignored…

The Uk love to build someone up then thrown them down – look at groups such as 5 Star who should have gone on to greater things because they were home grown talent….End Of

pahaha….she will get crucified in america just a shame UK will get it because of this and she as the nerve to tell people who can or can’t sing!! JEEEZ

  10. thestar March 23, 2010

    “has” not “as”

  11. Anna March 23, 2010

I agree with you that she can’t sing however her personality makes her so intreasting and she seems so human people can’t help but like her. Obviously it could just be a show that she is that genuine but I think that, despite her abilitly to sing not aswell as other people who have gone on th live lounge she is a very likeable person.

  12. ADE March 23, 2010

Sam why are you even featuring Cheryl Cole on your blog? You know she can’t sing for s*** so why bother?

  13. E to tha Izzzo March 24, 2010

Bloody hell!! Absolutely TERRIBLE! Why would she do that to herself? Why would she do that to innocent people’s ears? Why, God? Whyyyyyyyy??

  14. ITS MY OPINION March 24, 2010

ok i like her but this is not good at all. there are so many uk artists that are always ignored, beverly knight a prime example, talented but will not be promoted, maybe cos she is black? maysbe she is too old? maybe she is not marketable as cheryl. i still like cheryl…

  15. pam March 24, 2010

Cheryl is lovely! Shame she cant sing though. Flat, off key, out of tune and a total disgrace that she can judge the X factor and yet she is a product of sync music and retakes as her live performance proves. Cheryl is a darling but an artist? PLEASE!

Im glad im not the only one
i no longer watch tv becase of the junk im forced to watch
    cheryl?? jay seun?? JLS???
    all i can say is

    RIP GOOD MUSIC

  17. Lela March 24, 2010

My God, can you say OUT OF TUNE? LOL!

Funny people should mention Beverley Knight, that black guy on the BV is Bev’s BV – Bryan Chambers. Shola Ama, Terri Walker, Beverley Knight and co. would tear this sh*t to shreds vocally. They have bags more personality too! Hey Ho, this is Brit-Pop though, loves to champion the blonde-haired blue-eyed variety.

  18. elaine goold March 25, 2010

i thought the performance was excellent, she has a lovely tone to her voice, thats natural and warm like her sole

  19. tweetypiebabe1 March 25, 2010

We all know she’s not the best singer that’s why I don’t moan about her lip syncing especially if she’s gonna be dancing around but in terms of her judging X Factor she’s had a great career, good singer or not, and she has tutored the winner 2 years in a row! A first time in X Factor history!

I think everyone is really quick to judge Cheryl and her talent (or lack of.) It is because of the British public that she is so popular- we buy into her image, buy her CD’s, watch her on T.V and give her publicity like this.

Personally, I’m a huge fan of her. I know she’s not the best singing talent, but I like her songs, especially her collaborations with Will.I.Am. She is fantastic on the X-factor and although she’s made a few mistakes, overall, she comes across as very likable and a really nice person. She says herself (In a multitude of interviews) that her passion is dancing rather than singing. Her performance here wasn’t fantastic, but you have to keep in mind she has recovered from bronchitis recently. Her cover of fireflies was fantastic I thought, much better than this one.

She won a singing competition to perform as part of Girls Aloud, and she was fantastic then.
She’s laughing all the way to the bank and I think she is fantastic.

  21. Jay March 26, 2010

People are so quick to judge everybody!!
I mean RIP too good music? Really? Who are we to define what people think is good music?
I mean i would love to see anyone of you get up and do this?
I personally think cheryls performances were awesome..hands down but thats my opinion, and yes whilst everyone is entitled to there opinion i still think its so dissapointing that people can be so quick to judge.
As for people saying she isnt qualified to be an x factor judge, thats a load of sh*t! Shes mentored 2 winners, one who is doing amazingly well (alexandra Burke).
Cheryl is awesome and for her to do this knowing fine well critics out there are going to tear her a new one because they clearly have nothing better to do with their time is so brave! She could have sang it like an angel and still the narrow minded sad people out there would still feel they have the write to pass judgement.
Im a fan, end of 😀
