Despite admiring the storied career of Madonna and wanting similar longevity, the 25 year old emphatically tells the magazine that she won’t be stripping off Madge style any time soon:
“No weird sex books for me. I would never even do a bikini shoot. It’s too embarrassing.”
Addressing for the first time the incident which saw a mentally ill man strike her in the face at a book signing last year, Lewis quipped:
“I was angry at first, but then I found out he wasn’t well.”
On her fashion favourites, she said:
“I still love my big ballgowns with a kind of twist to them, but I also like Vivienne Westwood because she’s kind of punky and does really nice shapes for ladies.”

I may catch some flack for this, but those sound-bites kinda reinforce the ‘boring’ label often thrown Ms. Lewis’ way. I mean is anyone ‘really’ that nice? Granted, talent (which she possess in bucket-loads) should rate most important in the industry, the unfortunate reality is that it doesn’t. Hence, with little in the way of edge or recognisable personality to set herself apart, Leona runs the risk of falling to the background like countless less talented artists.
One can only hope her next album, which she is currently recording, sees her serve up more edge lyrically and on the production tip too. For, despite being on her third album, many (myself included) are nonethewiser about just who Leona is as an artist. Just my two pence…

Really? Because nobody knows who Kelly is as an artist either. But for some reason you just loooooooove wasting precious brain cells talking about how amazing she is. I do support Leona though. You talk about talent over and over again but when undisputed, true talent looks at you in your face, you find a way to throw shade.

I still cant believe people try to compare this woman to the Godess that was Mariah Carey in her prime, it is a sin to compare the 2, Leona 1st album sucks big time and the 2nd one is even worse, not surprising that it flopped, the 1st only sold because of the hype then people saw that she sucks literally and I am not hating, I love some of her songs but with this talent I think it is a waste to make these mediocre songs

I kinda agree with @Gucci. Despite being way less talented singingwise than Leona, Rihanna IS more relevant than her. Much as I wish it were the other way around.
Rihanna is in no way boring, her interviews are always fun to watch, and personality goes a long way to separate yourself from the rest of the pack – Leona needs to step hers up, cause her voice is incredible. Hopefully she’ll have done so by her next LP.

@Last Boy on Earth – Leona does have the ability to do Mariah in her prime (especially after more vocal training since the X-Factor), unfortunately though she hasn’t had the chances to do so live and that style of music is not popular anymore for her to make.
Anyways, to answer the last part about her new album, someone from her label said that she would be more edgy this time around and plans on making it more controversial. Not slutty though, just more edgy. The album should be out later this year in time for her US tour. Good thing about her tour is that it is said that it will be amazing and hopefully it will generate some publicity for her because her label are just letting Echo continue to fail. There are so many good songs on there and they aren’t releasing any.
Her problem is that she shuts the idea of anything interesting happening down by saying no to every question. She’d be better off saying although she’s ‘not comfortable right now who knows in the future’…, it doesn’t change the present to hint at something more risque later on, she doesn’t have to become a s*** in the future…, just hint that beneathe the ballgowns is a red blooded woman, even if her audience never get to see it. She ends up projecting that there’s nothing underneath to discover
