While her ‘Last Girl On Earth’ tour may be in high gear in Europe, things don’t seem to be so favourable in the US for the Bajan star. A reliable source has just informed That Grape Juice that ticket sales for many of her tour dates have yet to surpass 30% capacity despite having fellow ‘it’ girl Ke$ha as her opening act. The US leg of the ‘Last Girl On Earth’ tour kicks off on July 2nd at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn.
What exactly does this mean for Rihanna? After having 3 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 (1 of which held the top spot for 5 weeks), a platinum-shipping album and a massive promotional campaign, it’s evident that many consumers in the US don’t consider one hour of crotch rubbing a wise investment. Hopefully this will give Rihanna the cue to get the vocal training that she so desperately needs instead of wasting her time pretending to play musical instruments and changing her hairstyle every 5 minutes.

Rihanna tickets are this week’s third top seller, as the American singer prepares to kick off her UK tour at the beginning of next month. Rihanna is due to begin the ten-date jaunt at the LG Arena in Birmingham on May 7th and Tinchy Stryder, Tine Tempah and Pixie Lott have all been confirmed as support acts. That tells you whether they are being bought in bulk and then resold at a loss. I happened to do both, and this story is very true.

How can someone whose single has been #1 for 5 weeks and album got to #2 on the charts, an album they claim has sold almost 3 million copies, have a tour that flops?
I’ll tell you how. Her record company spun the wheel after the Brown incident and saw the situation as a gold mine. They put her out there as a Renaissance woman, so to speak. She willingly played along, and the company overestimated the potential success of this album. They have invested millions into her since last year, and they have not gotten the returns. They have gone from releasing her singles here to releasing them only in Europe. They paid stations to play her singles so they could hit #1 and buy up singles on Itunes so it can look like she’s successful in the States. They have invested in wardrobe, stylists, makeup artists, trainers, etc., all in a futile attempt to recoup their losses.
She has cost LA Reid his respect, if not his job, and they have unwisely headlined her on a tour when she never carried a tour by herself, instead depending on Jayz and Chris Brown to hold her up. She just doesn’t have the talent and presence to pull it off.
I predict that her next CD will be big in Europe, but no one is going to buy it here except her most rabid fans. It’s kind of like Clay Aiken, when his fans were buying 20 copies of his CD trying to make him stay relevant. They could only spend so much of their money. Where is he now? In the same place Rihanna will be this time next year. I hope she’s investing her money or she marries Kemp to stay in the money.

I did not count her the eight songs EP which is seen as her second album which has sold over 1 million. Most people add the EP in her sales and say she has sold 10 million but call it whatever. No one is going to catch her unless another Susan Boyle appears. The only competition she has now is Justin Beiber. I am telling you. No hating but really what is so special about Gaga? Isn’t she a regular pop star? Talking about Justin Beiber, he is also quickly approaching the top spot since the sales of his albums are counted as 1. This is impressive; before the second part of his debut was released (5 weeks ago) he had sold 546,000 albums since 2010. However since the second part of the album was released it has sold a combined 1.284 million in 5 weeks to total 1.911 million for the year. Talk about a young superstar.
