Earlier today Mariah Carey and long-time collaborators Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox revealed to the diva’s legion of lambs that they have reunited in the studio to start work on a new studio album. Now, footage from their time together in the booth has popped up. The trio noted that they have only just begun the songwriting process and have yet to create any tracks. So excited for the new music! Mariah looks rested, healthy, and happy! That is all I wish for her. I have a very good feeling about her future project(s). She is a musician – this is her job, so I support her whenever she decides to make music. This is what she loves. We don’t tell physicians to take a break from practicing medicine, or teachers to stop educating the youth. I understand that some people want her to take a long break, but who are we to dictate her life? This is her career, let her do what she wants to. Music is her passion. Go MC!

Truthfully…I know that people love them some Mariah and with good reason…but this is the music industry. There are no “accidental hits” i.e something that just becomes popular for the hell of it. Her not making the right moves and coming out with bad releases or promotional ideas is just going to make it THAT much harder for her to bounce back above the competition. Selling on name alone, or worse yet, selling solely on your “Legend” is not a good thing.
I did like her last album, well a few cuts anyway, but the majority of the songs/lyrical content would have been better suited to a woman half Mariahs’ age with half of her experience. She’s trying to keep up with the youngun’s and it’s not working. Age gracefully and come to terms with the fact that you won’t be rocking double platinum status until the day you retire.

I got to agree with Niki on this one. I didn’t see Kelly Rowland come onto this thread and talk s*** to any one but it didn’t stop you from trampling the poor girl.
