Some two years after the release of her debut solo LP, Alesha Dixon has revealed details of her second album…‘Unleashed’. Full story below…
Set to feature production from the likes of Jim Beanz (Nelly Furtado’s ‘Loose’) and Xenomania, ‘Unleashed’ will be preceded by first single ‘Drummer Boy’ – which will be premièring at the tail the end of August.
Speaking on her official website, the former Misteeq singer said of the album:
“[I’m] really excited about the new record. Time is ticking but we’re getting there and we’re nearly ready to come with the album.
“[We’re] just mastering it, mixing it [and] making it as good as it can be for you guys. I’m really excited, I hope you guys are as well.
“Look out for the new single ‘Drummer Boy’ when it drops at the end of August [or] beginning of September. I’ll keep you updated! I’m off to LA in a couple of weeks to shoot the video with Ray Kay which is exciting!” {Source}
Reliable word has it that (thankfully) gone is the just-about-passable cheese that pervaded her last album (see: ‘The Boy Does Nothing’); in its place is a fiercer, more ferocious Dixon (who also re-engages with her trademark MCing).
Despite Alesha selling well with ‘The Alesha Show’, I’m still nonethewiser as to who she wants to be as an artist (no coherence between her previous singles ‘The Boy Does Nothing’, ‘Breathe Slow’ or ‘Let’s Get Excited’). Maybe just maybe this will be her moment to truly stake her claim as a viable solo act.

this dumbass h** has been questioned in interviews several times about how people call her the english version of “beyonce” which is just ridiculous considering she’s had one hit solo album filled with mediocre tracks, her music has no longevity and her voice is weaker than a tetley tea bag my sweetie………

Being compared to Beyonce by dumb journalists who don’t do any research and wanting to be like her are two very different things. Alesha is fully aware that she doesn’t have the vocal ability of B. One thing’s for sure she’s got one of the best personalities around.

well her first single (“knock down” from er first LP) was really good… and of course ‘the boy does nothing’ was a summer hit all over Europe…
so I hope she’ll focus on UK market and return to more quality in her music.

No. This girl is weak. She was in some wack group in the UK, and that went belly up. She cannot sing, she can dance but not naturally. There is nothing distinctive about her. She should stick to something like modelling because she looks decent enough. Listen on Youtube, her songs are bloody awful. The most interesting thing about her was the breakup between her and her wack ex Harvey. He pissed off with some slag & got her preganant, and when she dumped his ass he went crying to the British media about how much he loves Alisha. Apart from this, boring.
