True the lyrics of this song are all about DV, but read them (or listen carefully) they’re not triumphalist lyrics, they’re describing something that maybe is too common – two people who have a love-hate relationship which erupts into rage and violence from BOTH sides. Viewed in that way who better to sing those lyrics than Em & RiRi – at least they’ve got some idea of what their singing about.

Sorry, but in my opinion, as someone who works in the industry, you guys have got it way wrong about the amount of power record companies have. There isn’t much money in the bank in most cases – let’s face it – its an industry where people are trying to sell you something that you can get for free. If they had that much power there never would be any flop albums – no need to ever sell off CDs cheaply to recover losses. Of course they’ll try to use whatever resources they have to make you buy their artists records, but at the end of the day all that advertising and promotion might just end up with you going to Rapidshare and dowloading there. Listen for the call numbers of your favorite radio station…”This is a CBS station or a division of the FOX family of stations”! The media dictates if an artist/actor will be successful or not. When there was more competition in the media, you got everything from better programming to a variety of music and music videos. Now all you see is mess such as, “Jersey Shores” a.k.a. reality television and the same music /videos played constantly! Look at the award shows (pick one: the Oscars, Golden Globes, the Grammy’s, etc) who cannot predict the winner in each category? I stop watching them, everything is just so rigged! If “they “ like the artist/actor that artists/actor will appear on every network that “they” own for example: Disney owns ABC, CNN, HLN, People Magazine, LA Times, Times Magazine, ESPN, several local radio stations (talk & music) etc. If they like you they will only report nice things about you but if they decide not to like you all the public will ever hear are negative comments about that entertainer.
