Her music is dance music – lots of current dance music uses autotune or vocoder modification, plus in the majority of current dance music the voice has a lesser part in the vocal / backing music mix than it would have in an R&B track. She isn’t trying to compete with the Mariahs, Xtinas and Beyonces – her music is up against things like Cascada, Katy Perry, Basshunter, the new style Kelly Rowland etc. At least she’s written or co-written all the tracks on Animal
