Yeah true, but that’s the same for every black girl – like Beyonce as just one example – in some photos she looks so much paler than others – not a photogapher so don’t know if its deliberate or just a problem with black skin looking different under different lighting conditions – sure sometimes its deliberate like in Nelly F’s Powerless “paint my face in your magazines, make it look whiter than it seems, paint me over with your dreams, shove away my ethnicity” – but as the song suggests the artist probably doesn’t get much say in that. – now there’s a thought… I’d love to see a collab’ between Kelly and that Nelly.

Just amazes me how some of Kelly’s fans remain very optimistic with high expectations even when the odds and the past lean against her. I think she’s a talented lady but realistically, I haven’t heard a song from her yet that I think could give her the type of success in the US that you all seem to be expecting.

For me personally – no I don’t expect Kelly’s new album to do great things in the US if the past is a guide. I would have thought she’s sell rather more than Kelis though – wasn’t that down around the 8000 mark. The difference between the two of them is that Kelis hasn’t performed much better in Europe – a few of her singles did well, but only 1 of her albums got into the top 40 – but Kelly has done quite well in Europe and the album might sell pretty well there. Maybe she’s not going to have a career that’s going to suddenly take off, but unless she’s on some ego trip it doesn’t really need to – she’s probably going to make enough to pay all the bills, she’ll be able to tour at reasonable size venues etc. Just remember though 30 isn’t that old – Anastacia didn’t start till 29 and she had a fair run at the top of the game in Europe for 8 or 9 years.

omg today was the best day ever 0 i heard grown ass woman not ont once but twice on two of our cities most popular radio stations – I ALOMOST SWURVED OFF THE RD WHEN I CAME ON – heres the story lol – i was jamming to my home made best of kelly cd ranging from tracks from simply deep to ms kelly to the kelly rowland album but i only have commander and the extended remix along with shake them haters off and “on and ON” i dont have rcg or gaw on the cd so i took a break from the cd to listen to the radio and after 2 songs low and behold without introduction i heard it come on – i had not too long got in my car leaving my dad’s house and it came on – i felt like i was in another zone – i didnt belive it at first but OMG so i sat in the car and listned to the whole song – then i told my friends about it as i met up with them and an hr later it came on again this time with my bestie in the car with me and on another radio station at that – MS KELLY IS GETTING IT IN AND I AM SO DAMN HAPPY – when ms kelly was out i never rally heard like this but we all know that story! sorry about the rant but i had to share this story with my truly kelly fans – its her time and its about time!!!! worrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!
