The Saturdays Perform ‘Missing You’ On MTV’s ‘Suck My Pop’

Published: Monday 26th Jul 2010 by Sam

Pop stunners The Saturdays stopped by MTV’s new show ‘Suck My Pop’ (…I know) yesterday to perform ‘Missing You’ – the lead single from their upcoming ‘Headlines’ EP (due August 16th).

Check out how Vanessa, Frankie, Una, Mollie, and Rochelle fared below…

Not a bad performance at all. Above anything, the song is a lot more solid than it’s initial Electro-Pop surface would have you believe.

Tidbit: Anyone else find it hilarious that the ladies’ specially recorded segment for the performance looked better than the song’s actual video?

Your thoughts?

I love The Saturdays. They need to work on their harmonies! But overall a great performance

For them to be a manufactured girl group they are really making great pop music.

Ya I like them too & I think they’re talented but they really need to re-work the harmony of this song. And I rather liked the Official video of this song 😉
    This show seems tacky though.

LOVE THE SONG. COULD BE HUGE FOR THEM STATESIDE. THEY SHOULD RELEASE IT AS THEIR DEBUT OVER HERE. IT WOULD KILL WITH AMERICAN FANS. I SPEAKING AS ONE OF THEM THINK THAT THEY COULD SOMEWHAT FILL THE DK VOID WE’VE ALL BEEN MISSING WITH A LITTLE MORE R&B IN THEM JUST LIKE THIS RIGHT HERE. I MEAN DOESN’T VANESS WHITE REMIND YOU OF AUNDREA FIMBRES OF DANITY KANE?

Rubbish, im sure they’re miming to a pre recording track. I just dont see the point of the saturdays.

@IKNOWTHETRUTH … are you joking? I LOVE The Saturdays but I don’t think they have a chance to crack stateside at all!

I love these girls. My favourite has to be Frankie. She is so pretty <3.

Sam you scatty shitface, the performance wasn’t better than the music video, the video was quite good, especially the chorus after the bridge, so please don’t type stupidness. Thanks!

i don’t understand, none of them can sing? This is crap.

  8. Dracula July 26, 2010

@Thatmangojuice.. Are you kidding? The shortest member – Vanessa white has a great voice! the only one i think that can’t sing is the blonde member.. Molly… seems as if she has a lisp which restrains her

ok…i happen to like the saturdays…but holy habichuelas that was awkward…from the choreography to the weird angles and unsure eyelines against the hotpink background…IDK humph…#betterlucknexttime

NO I’M NOT KIDDING. WITH THEM BEING MARKETED AND PROMOTED THE CORRECT WAY LIKE THE SUGABABES WITH THEIR ‘SWEET 7’ ALBUM ON ROC NATION THEY COULD GO VERY FAR BECAUSE OF THEIR DK ESQUE IMAGE.

i’ll admit, the saturdays were once a guilty pleasure but now i will say i honestly do like them. they may not be the best vocally but not everyone needs to give christina, beyonce vocals to have good music to listen to. when i listen to the saturdays and watch them perform, i am not looking to get this deep feeling that churns something emotionally. i have other music/artists for that. the sats are just fun in my opinion and thats all they proclaim to be. with this performance though, it is truly tacky because this ‘suck my pop’ show is just tacky seeming and their outfits didn’t help. whoever is their stylist has really fallen off…around the ‘work’ era, their wardrdobe was on point on tv performances. from the t4 performance of ‘missin you’ until this, they look quite bargain bin, tina knowles early dc creations, they’ve regressed with their look. rochelle needs to get that inverted bob back with that light brown color…it gave her some extra sass and edge…but i digress, the track is definitely pre-recorded which is wierd because you hear their harmonies (which sound fine to me) better here than in the actual video. and they are getting better with being syncronized on their choreography…una and mollie just aren’t dancers, vanessa gets by (if they didn’t have her voice they’d be screwed), and rochelle and frankie are marginally good because of all that sclub juniors training lol
